Some important reminders and a few new updates:

Please be sure to provide or update your vaccination records with me when your dogs go in for their annual visit. Dogs not up to date, will not be able to board without them. If you have any questions, just send me a message.

After years of working 7 days a week, every holiday, and every weekend. I am changing my grooming schedule a bit to allow myself some breathing room. I groom part time (2 to 3 dogs a day) but often groom 7 days a week to accommodate everyone including my own. I will no longer be scheduling grooming appointments on Friday or Saturday’s to allow me more time to groom the dogs that board with me. Friday’s and Saturday’s are my busiest days in the kennel and Fridays are my most busiest days for drop offs. I will
offer a day during the week to book later grooming appointments to help with those who can’t take time off work for their appointments. I will also not be doing mobile nail trims any longer. They are too hard to accommodate with my busy schedule and I can utilize that time for grooming appointments here.
Also, a reminder grooming prices changed September 1st.

I’m not exactly sure how next year is going to go for me. I will be looking for a back up kennel attendant. I have someone in mind, that a few of you already trust. But, I haven’t spoken to her yet. I have received a notice that I may have to serve for jury duty sometime next year. With my luck, it will be spring break week. lol I can’t be away all day and leave dogs unattended so, I’ll have to have a back up plan in place. Most of you know my mom lives with me, here in the past few months she has broken a bone in her foot and recently fell off a chair she was standing on to measure a window. We are still waiting on X-ray results. She has been hobbling around for a week now with no signs of improvement in her hip. As she gets older, I’m sure she is going to throw me some curve balls to deal with. I am not originally from Michigan, she is my only family here. My family back home also has a lot of health issues and I need to make sure I have someone who can fill my shoes if need be. Cadence, my daughter will always help out when she can. This year she went full time with her own business Grit and Grace Detailing. She has been successful and her schedule is full. Due to her job and traveling to other businesses for work she will no longer be offering in house dog sitting for me. I do have someone else I can refer out if you still need someone. I am hopeful next year goes just as smooth but, I do need a back up plan in place.
I am attaching the boarding policies off the website for a reminder below.

Overnight dog boarding prices effective January 1, 2025.
1 dog $35.00 per day
$25.00 per day for additional dogs in the same kennel

Payment is due at Drop off!

We are a smaller kennel with only 6 kennels so space is limited and often fill up months in advance. Book early!

Dogs not from the same family, do not share a kennel. All kennels are provided a cot. You may provide a blanket, other bedding and toys from home to make your dog feel more comfortable. Only your dog will have access to their things.

Any medication must be labeled and will give at no additional charge.

Please provide your dog's food with feeding instructions. I feed twice daily or by your request. I do not charge extra for giving treats. Also, if your dog has any allergies, please be sure to tell us,

Proof of current up to date vaccination records including Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella must be received before your dog's stay with us, You may take a picture and send it by text, email or Facebook Messenger.

Here at Grit and Grace Farm LLC, we do not allow group play in the play yard. When your dog (s) are in the yard, it is just your dog (s). I stay in the play yard with the dogs. The dogs get socialization with me, and they can still interact with the other dogs through the kennel fence. I get dogs from every background and do not give a temperament test. I have many reasons for not allowing group play (Unless from same family), but it ultimately comes down to safety for all.

Drop off & Pick up times are by appointment only during business hours 8 am - 6pm. I cannot guarantee I will be here or available to you, if it's not scheduled as I also Farm /Dog Sit away from the farm and groom dogs. If you show up 15 minutes later than your scheduled time, you will be charged $15.00. There are lots of working pieces for me as a solo business owner to operate this business effectively and efficiently. Your respect of my time is greatly appreciated and valued.

Puppies must be at least 12 weeks old.

Dogs picked up prior to their scheduled pick up date will be charged for their full stay as scheduled. Dogs being picked up late (after 6 pm,) will be charged an after hour fee of $20.00. Kennel cleared out Saturday. Gave Roxy, Cricket and Cash a spa day Thursday. Bo joined me in the house today. Miss Josie also stopped in for a spa day today. Little update: grooming is booking out until mid October. Thanks for scheduling your dogs at your appointment. It has made scheduling easier. We can schedule out until end of year. Yoda, Sadie and my daughter’s new puppy stopped in for a spa day. Said my see ya laters to Toby this evening. Angel, Jinx, cash, Cricket, Frankie and Oliver is still hanging out with me for awhile yet. Oliver spent the night in the house. Toby and I slept on the couch so Oliver could see me. He cleaned up nice, I just hope he heals quick. He is eating a lot better now that I have him separated. Cricket is doing amazing for her first time here. it’s like she just knew what to expect. She stays closer to me than the boys do and that’s ok with me. 🙂 I can see the remorse on Jinx face. Frankie and Cash are doing good. Angel is still Angel. Always full of it. She has a way of always making you smile no matter what’s going on.

It’s been busy! In the kennel I have Jinx, Oliver, Cash, Frankie, Cricket (her first time here), Angel, Lynyrd and Bella. In the house I had Tilly (said see ya laters this evening) and Toby. Tilly and Toby got along great! Loki stopped in for a spa day and hung out with us until this afternoon. It was a warm one so the pool was the main attraction today.
