We LOVE getting pup-dates from our clients! 🥹🐾💙

Gus is officially living his BEST life with his family! From wrapping up his Turnkey training with us to now learning how to swim and becoming a full-fledged boat dog. 🚤🌊🐶

This is why we do what we do. Training isn’t just about obedience—it’s about preparing dogs to confidently step into their family’s lifestyle and go experience life right alongside them.

Seeing Gus out there learning new things, building confidence, and making memories with his people makes our hearts so happy. 🥰

Keep those pup-dates coming—we absolutely LOVE seeing where life takes our CKK9 dogs!

🐾 MAVERICK IS STILL WAITING FOR HIS FOREVER PERSON 🐾

Meet Maverick—or Mav, as we lovingly call him. Mav is a sweet, affectionate boy with a brilliant mind and a heart full of love. He is playful, adventurous, and happiest when he is spending time outside with someone he trusts. Whether you’re hiking, exploring, playing together, or simply enjoying a quiet day, Mav would love nothing more than to be by your side.

Mav is incredibly smart and has so much potential. He will thrive with a patient, confident owner who can provide the consistency, structure, and clear boundaries he needs. Once Mav forms a bond with you, you’ll have a loyal companion who will love you with his whole heart.

Mav is not the greatest with other dogs, so he would do best as the only dog in the home. We know this may make finding his family a little harder—but Mav deserves to be someone’s first choice. He deserves a home where he can finally relax, feel secure, and receive all the love and attention he has been waiting for.

He isn’t asking for a perfect person—just the right one. Someone willing to understand him, believe in him, and give him the chance to become the incredible companion we know he can be.

If you think you could be Mav’s forever person, please send us a message. Serious inquiries only. If you cannot adopt, please share this post—his perfect home may be waiting somewhere in your friends list. 🤎

Meet Ash, a beautiful black Lab estimated to be between 6 and 8 years old. Unfortunately, Ash was left behind by her previous owners without any explanation. We took her in from another kennel, so her exact age and history are unknown—but what we do know is that she is an incredibly special girl!

Ash is:

🐾 Loving and affectionate
🐾 Energetic and playful
🐾 Sweet-natured
🐾 Great with other dogs and animals
🐾 Always ready to give love

Despite everything she has been through, Ash is still full of happiness and has so much love to give. She deserves a safe, committed home where she will be treated like family and never be left behind again.

If you believe you could give this sweet girl the forever home she deserves, please send us a message. Serious inquiries only. Please share this post to help Ash find her perfect family and help her live the life deserve with much love and adventure! 🖤🐶

Lark took her public training to a whole new level with a trip to Big B’s for dinner and a concert! 🎶🐾🍎

This was a BIG environment for this little girl—live music, lots of people, food, movement, new sounds, and plenty of distractions. We worked on settling around the table, staying engaged with her handler, neutrality around people, and learning that even when the world around her is busy and exciting, she can simply relax and take it all in.

These real-world experiences are such an important part of raising a confident, well-rounded dog. Lark handled her big night out beautifully, and I’m so excited to keep building on these experiences with her! ❤️

I’m so excited for the opportunity to collaborate with Sarah and present at the Colorado OT Conference! 🐾💙

We’ll be diving into an important topic that continues to create a lot of confusion—not only for the general public, but within healthcare and therapeutic settings as well:

🐕‍🦺 Service Dogs vs. Therapy Dogs vs. Emotional Support Animals in Therapy

We’ll be talking about the differences between each, the roles they can appropriately play within occupational therapy and other therapeutic environments, and why understanding those distinctions matters for both professionals and the people they serve.

I absolutely love opportunities where the dog-training and healthcare worlds can come together through education. The more professionals understand what these dogs are trained to do—and what their roles and limitations actually are—the better we can support legitimate working teams and thoughtfully incorporate animals into therapeutic settings.

I’m incredibly excited to share my knowledge and experience in service dog training alongside Sarah’s expertise and perspective from the OT world.

Colorado OT Conference, here we come! 🐾

Presenter: Sarah Hauser, MA OTR/L
Presenter Bio: Sarah Hauser is a licensed and registered Occupational Therapist and the owner of Bloom2Function – Mobile Occupational Therapy Services. Her passion for animal-assisted therapy began during her undergraduate OT studies and was inspired by a lifelong love of dogs, having grown up in Switzerland surrounded by them. She later worked alongside her own therapy dog, further deepening her understanding of the therapeutic power of the human–animal bond. Sarah moved to the United States to earn her Master’s degree from the University of Southern California, graduating in 2011. She has worked in diverse settings from pediatrics to geriatrics, with a special passion for providing services in clients’ homes, where natural environments promote independence, comfort, and meaningful engagement in daily life.
Co-Presenter:

Aleisha Largent, Certified Canine Behaviorist & Professional Trainer, CPDT-KA (will not be present at conference)
Co-Presenter Bio: Aleisha Largent is the founder and head trainer of Covenant Keeper’s K9 Training Facility and Loyal Guardians Service Dogs, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving veterans, children, and civilians across the Western Slope of Colorado. She began training dogs through 4-H for competition in 2001 and transitioned into professional training, later specializing in service dog development in 2019. Her expertise includes service dog training, behavior rehabilitation, public access preparation, and ethical handler education. Aleisha has successfully trained and placed fully trained service dogs and has guided numerous owner/trainers through graduation. She is the only certified canine behaviorist on the Western Slope who consults on legal and court-related canine behavior cases. Aleisha is passionate about educating professionals on working dog distinctions to ensure safe, ethical, and legally compliant integration into therapeutic settings.

🛒🐾 Eiger goes shopping at Murdoch’s!

Training doesn’t only happen at the facility! Eiger joined us for a shopping trip to Murdoch’s where we worked on neutrality, engagement, leash manners, impulse control, and making good choices in a busy environment.

Stores offer so many real-life distractions—new people, smells, noises, carts, merchandise, and sometimes other dogs. The goal isn’t for Eiger to interact with everything around him; it’s for him to learn that he can notice the world without needing to react to it.

These everyday outings are such an important part of taking training from “I know how to do this” to “I can do this anywhere.” 🐾
