Happy 4th of July! We hope everyone gets to enjoy spending time with family and friends today.

FIREWORKS SEASON IS COMING!

For some pets, the Fourth of July isn’t a celebration—it’s one of the most stressful nights of the year. Loud fireworks can cause fear, anxiety, panic, and even lead pets to run away from home.

🎆 Fireworks Safety Tips for Pets:

🏠 Keep pets indoors during fireworks displays.

🛏 Create a safe space with their favorite bed, blanket, or crate.

🎶 Help mask the noise with white noise, calming music, or a television.

🏷 Make sure collars and ID tags are current and secure in case your pet becomes frightened and runs away.

🚪 Keep doors, windows, and gates closed.

💙 A little preparation can make a big difference.

As summer approaches keep your furry friends safe when walking with these essential heat guidelines:

•The 5-Second Test: Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 5 to 10 seconds. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.
•Adjust Your Route: Stick to grassy areas and walk during the cooler parts of the day to avoid peak heat.
•Mind the Humidity: Use the 150-rule for running with dogs (avoid strenuous activity if the temperature plus humidity exceeds 150).
•Carry Water: Always bring a collapsible bowl and fresh water on outings.

🚨 EMERGENCY DOG FOOD APPEAL 🚨

We need your help.

Due to an overwhelming number of recent humane cases, hoarding situations, owner surrenders, and neglected animals coming through our doors, we have gone through our dog food supply much faster than anticipated.

As of today, we are completely out of dog food. We have purchased a few bags, but we need your help!

Every day, dozens of dogs rely on us for their next meal, and right now we are facing a critical shortage. We are doing everything we can to care for these animals, but we urgently need the community's help to keep food in their bowls.

🐾 Most Needed:
• Purina ONE Lamb & Rice Adult Dog Food (need the most urgently)
• Purine One Puppy Food

Donations can be dropped off at the Ohio SPCA & Humane Society Adoption Center during business hours, or purchased online and shipped directly to us.

If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this post. A simple share could help us reach someone who can.

The number of animals needing our help continues to grow, and we cannot do this without our community.

Thank you for standing with these animals when they need it most. ❤️🐾
