Just like kids heading back to school, dogs who socialize can occasionally pick up a respiratory bug. This can happen anywhere dogs interact โ dog parks, stores, training classes, vet offices, daycare, boarding, grooming, and even neighborhood playdates.
The good news? ๐ ๐ผ๐๐ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฝ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ ๐ถ๐ป๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐บ๐ถ๐น๐ฑ and resolve with rest and appropriate care.

Contact your veterinarian if symptoms persist or worsen, your dog stops eating or drinking normally, becomes unusually lethargic, or develops a fever. Difficulty or labored breathing should be evaluated promptly.

โKennel coughโ isn't one specific illness. Several viruses and bacteria can cause canine respiratory infections. No vaccine or cleaning protocol can prevent every case, especially because some illnesses can spread before symptoms are noticeable.
