I get a lot of questions on why I don't do board, and trains. I thought I'd make a post explaining why. My dog training programs are about relationship centered training. What this means is helping you to have a better bond with your dog. Dogs do not generalize. It takes roughly 500 reps of a command for a dog to start to be fluent in that command. What I've found with board and trains is that it doesn't teach the handler how to duplicate does the dog knows the command? Yes definitely, but that doesn't mean anything if its not being reinforced.
