A Truly fascinating subject I never tire of talking about or learning about!

Each food you choose has properties that can sway the body in one direction or another. The goal is always to achieve balance or good health.

More evidence that feeding fresh is beneficial. Even if you can only feed SOME fresh or raw, commit to doing it. Those pets with gut issues will love you for it as will everyone else

💩 BETTER P**P MAY BE JUST THE BEGINNING.

A new peer-reviewed, randomized 6-month study compared dogs eating fresh food with dogs eating ultra-processed kibble.

Within about a week, the fresh-fed dogs were already producing firmer, better-formed p**p.

But what was happening INSIDE the gut was even more interesting. 🤯

After six months, f***l butyrate was ~87% higher in the fresh-fed dogs. The fresh group started with a head start, but the gap became much larger over the six months.

Butyrate helps support the gut barrier, healthy digestion and inflammation control — all important defenses for long-term health.

Researchers also found that the two diets produced distinctly different gut microbiomes, showing how strongly the food in the bowl can influence the gut.

Previous research shows fresh foods can also have higher nutrient and protein digestibility than kibble. Simply put, your dog can use more of what’s in the bowl, so less comes out the other end. 💩

🥩🥦 This is another reason I’m such a big advocate for adding fresh, minimally processed foods to our dogs’ bowls.

You don’t have to change everything overnight. Adding wholesome, minimally processed foods is a simple way to improve the quality of what goes into the bowl.

Because what you feed doesn’t just feed your dog.

It feeds their gut too. ❤️🐶

Great opportunity to support this great organization!

🎉🐾 WE HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS! 🐾🎉

We’ve teamed up with S&H Creative Specialty LLC to create something we’ve NEVER done before… our very first Journey Home Animal Control T-shirt sale! And we are SO excited to finally share it with you! ❤️

The design is simple, but it means so much to us. On the front is a hand reaching toward a paw — or maybe a paw reaching toward a hand. However you choose to see it, we think it represents what Journey Home is all about.

And here’s the really exciting part — this shirt sale has a goal behind it. 🥹

We are raising money toward a proper transport vehicle for Journey Home. Having a vehicle dedicated to our work would make a HUGE difference in our ability to respond to lost and stray animals, transport equipment, and help our community when they need us.

And any funds raised beyond our vehicle goal will go right back into the work we do in our communities. ❤️

So… we’re setting a BIG goal.

🎯 250 SHIRTS.

Is it lofty? Absolutely.
Do we think our community can make it happen?

100%.

We’ve seen time and time again what happens when our community comes together, and we’re hoping this will be another one of those moments. 🐾❤️

These Soft-Style Shirts will be $35 and will be available in:
💙 Navy
🍷 Burgundy
🌲 Forest Green

We’re putting the finishing touches on the “How to Order” details now, and we’ll be sharing those very soon!

So start thinking about your size, pick your color, and get ready… because we’re going for 250! 🎉

Help us wear our mission, support our work, and keep 𝐻𝑒𝑙𝑝𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑃𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒 𝐻𝑒𝑙𝑝 𝐴𝑛𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑙𝑠. 🐾❤️
