Sun Valley Farms is a riding school located in Del Mar that offers reasonably priced riding lessons and seasonal week-long camps for children ages 3 – 11.

Specialized riding instruction,

Uniquely tailored to your child’s skill level, in a

Nurturing environment.

​Lessons are taught with your child’s skill level in mind, whether they are a beginner, no

vice, intermediate or advanced. We focus on improving; riding position, balance, confidence, co-ordination of the aids, and accuracy.

​We offer an introductory lesson so you can determine if we are the right riding school for you.

See What’s New at Sun Valley Farms!

Riding Lessons!
When summer camp ended, some of you asked for riding lessons, and we listened!!
We are pleased to offer private and group riding lessons for children ages 3 – 11.
Lessons are offered on weekends and during the week after school.

Private Lesson - $60 (1 hour: includes grooming, tacking, and riding)
Package of 4 private lessons - $200
Package of 8 private lessons - $400

Group Lesson - $50 (1 hour: includes grooming, tacking, and riding)
Package of 4 group lessons - $160
Package of 8 group lessons - $320

Tiny Tots $25 (30 minutes. Geared for young children 3 - 5 years of age)

Introductory Lesson $25 (30 minutes. If you are thinking about riding, come for a visit to see if we are the right barn for you!)

No School, No Problem!! We Offer One-Day Camps!
No registration required! Drop-off and pick-up anytime from 9:00 - 5:00. Pay by the hour.
Kids ride ponies, hang out with the other farm animals, and do arts and crafts and other fun activities.
Make sure kids wear long pants and closed toed shoes. Bring snack, lunch, and water bottle.

Available Dates: Cost: $15/hour

Spring Camps!
Just like Summer Camp, our Spring Camp aims to teach children (ages 4-11) about the
wonderful world of horses.

Campers enjoy...
• Daily riding lessons with an experienced instructor
• Horse care: feeding, grooming, bathing
• Horse crafts, activities, and educational games

Available Dates:
February 17 – 21 (Presidents’ Days)
April 6 – 10 (Spring Break)
April 13 – 17 (Spring Break)

Time: 9:00 to 1:00 Monday - Friday
Limit: 8 kids per session (4yrs - 11yrs)
Cost: $350 per week
$70 per day

Birthday Parties!
Kids love spending their birthday riding ponies and hanging out with chickens, goats, and even a miniature donkey!
Our large picnic area has plenty of shade, and can accommodate parties with up to 20 kids.
Two-hour party - $250 (20 kids, and an additional 30 minutes for set-up).

Horse Shows!
Have your kids show off their riding skills by attending horse shows!
These are one-day events, either Saturday or Sunday, where we trailer the ponies to a riding facility in San Juan Capistrano. Riders compete in walk/trot, and crossrail classes.

We've added another one-day camp in November!
November 25th from 9:00 - 5:00. No registration required, and it's pay by the hour ($15).

2020 SPRING CAMPS ARE HERE!! REGISTER ON OUR WEBSITE!

Just like Summer Camp, our Spring Camps aim to teach children (ages 4-11) about the wonderful world of horses.

​Through hands-on activities, campers learn how to care for horses, their characteristics, breeds, colors, and safe handling--both on the ground and while mounted--in a fun-filled environment.

​Children are supervised by trained staff and counselors and learn horsemanship skills on horses suitable for the young rider.

Riding Camp is designed for all levels of riders--from a child's first experience with a horse to an experienced junior rider.

​Additionally, campers enjoy interacting with other farm animals; chickens, goats, and even a mini-donkey!
