Happy 4th of July!

For dogs that are scared of fireworks, get their brains working by asking for commands/tricks they know. Fear suppresses thinking but thinking suppresses fear so the best way to get them out of fear mode is to have them think. Be persistent when asking, may have to be annoying even to finally break their focus from the fear onto you. Once they are thinking clearly they will realize they are not dying or in any harm and can actually overcome the fear.

I have used this technique on many dogs including ones that were shaking and hiding, but after working their mind, they didn’t mind fireworks the whole rest of the night.
