🐾 A Little Time Away From the Clinic = A Lot of Learning! 🐾

Last week, we closed the clinic a little early for an afternoon of staff training, and we just want to say thank you for your patience and understanding! ❤️

We know closing early can be an inconvenience, and we truly appreciate everyone who worked around our shortened hours.

But we have to say… it was absolutely worth it! 🙌

We had an excellent training session, and it wasn’t just our support staff learning — our entire team, including our doctors, walked away with new knowledge and skills. There was a lot of discussion, learning, and plenty of those “I never thought about it that way!” moments. 😊

A special THANK YOU to Natalie for coming in and spending the afternoon with our team! We truly appreciate you sharing your knowledge, experience, and time with us. You gave our entire staff a lot to think about and some great tools that we can put into practice every day. ❤️👏

Our top priority has always been providing the best possible care for your pets, and continuing education and team training are a big part of making that happen.

The veterinary field is constantly changing, and we want to make sure our team continues to learn, grow, and improve so we can give your pets the care they deserve. 🐶🐱❤️

So thank you for giving us the time to sharpen our skills, strengthen our team, and keep getting better!

🐾 Yesterday was a pretty eventful day at WCAC! 🐾

We had the pleasure of helping the cutest little Frenchie mama deliver TWO adorable puppies via C-section! 🐶❤️

But yesterday was also a pretty special learning experience for one of our veterinary technicians, Rino. This was his first time experiencing a C-section, and as we explained to him beforehand, there are some things you can explain all day long… but sometimes you just have to experience them for yourself!

When the puppies arrived, we each worked with one of them. You could tell Rino was a little nervous at first, but he did an awesome job! Then came the moment we were waiting for…

The little puppy he was working with finally started whining and making noise — and the grin that came across Rino’s face was absolutely priceless! 😂❤️

His response?

“Okay… that was pretty cool.” 😄🐾

And honestly, we couldn't agree more!

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing team for making this such a great experience. Whitney did a fantastic job monitoring and assisting Dr. Sayre throughout the surgery, and of course, Dr. Sayre did an incredible job bringing these two little ones safely into the world! 👏❤️

It takes a team to make moments like this happen, and we are so proud of the knowledge, teamwork, and dedication our staff brings to our patients every day.

It's moments like these that remind us why we love what we do. We get to care for our patients, help bring new life into the world, and watch our team learn and grow along the way.

Great job, Rino! Great job, Whitney! And an extra special thank you to Dr. Sayre! ❤️🐾

📚🐾 Back to School… for the WCAC Team! 🐾📚

School is starting back, and while the kids are heading back to the classroom, our team is headed back to school too! 😄

On Thursday, August 20th, we’ll be closing for the afternoon for some in-depth staff training.

We believe that being the best team we can be means we never stop learning! We’ll be spending the afternoon brushing up on our skills, working on communication and teamwork, and learning new ways to provide the best possible care for your pets. 🐶🐱❤️

So, while your kids are getting their school supplies ready, our team will be grabbing our “notebooks” and hitting the books! 😂📚

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we take some time to invest in our team so we can continue providing the quality care you and your pets deserve.

As is the WCAC tradition, our staff always chips in to celebrate birthdays and make everyone feel special. 🎉

Now...I'll admit I've been terrible about remembering to take pictures and post everyone's birthday celebrations. 🤦‍♂️ Oops!

Today, though, they turned the tables on me for my birthday!

Anyone who knows me knows I like to keep things fun around the clinic. It's a stressful job at times, and I want our team to enjoy coming to work (well...for the most part! 😜). I'm usually the prankster, and I can normally spot when they're trying to pull something over on me.

Well...I knew we were doing the birthday celebration today. What I didn't know was what they had planned.

When I walked in and they pulled this off, they genuinely scared the living daylights out of me! 😂 And trust me—I'm not an easy person to startle! I immediately told them, "Y'all better be careful...I'm getting old! Don't give me a heart attack!"

Needless to say...they got me good. 🤣
