🐾 HAPPY NATIONAL MAKE A DOG’S DAY! 🐾

Today was all about making our dogs feel EXTRA special! 💙

Every one of our pups got to celebrate with pup cups, extra playtime in the yard, long walks, and plenty of one-on-one attention. Because really… shouldn’t every day be Make A Dog’s Day? 🥹🐶

Featured here are the amazing duo, Tater & Tot! 🥔❤️🥔 These two LOVE their long walks, so for their special adventure they headed out to Oxbow Lake to stretch their legs, sniff all the smells, and take in the beautiful views. 🌳🐾

We may not be able to give every shelter dog their forever home today, but we can certainly make sure they know just how loved they are while they wait for it. 💕

Happy National Make A Dog’s Day from Tater, Tot, and all of their friends at the Fort Defiance Humane Society! 🐶🐾

Happy Thursday from Sienna! 🐾💕

Looking for a little extra sweetness in your life? Sienna is your girl! This gorgeous pup has been waiting at FDHS for a while now, and we think it’s about time she found her person. 🥹

Sienna is a well-mannered, sweet dog who absolutely adores her caregivers! She would love a quieter home where she can soak up all the love and attention for herself. With the chilly months rolling in, wouldn’t it be nice to have a furry friend to cozy up with? ❄️🐶

Fill out an adoption application to come meet Sienna and see if she’s the missing piece to your cozy season! 🏡💗

‼️ Reminder that dog’s ages 1-6 have a 20% reduced adoption fee until the end of October in honor of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month ‼️

Lacy is suuuuuch a cutie! 🥰

This little green-eyed girl came to us a few months ago as a “stray” found mysteriously outside of our shelter.

She has been so sweet for her caregivers and would likely fit effortlessly into just about any type of home.

Lacy is 1-2 years old, fully vetted and accepting adoption applications at fortdefiancehumanesociety.org/adopt/cats/

🐾🧼 WISHLIST WEDNESDAY 🧼🐾

This week, we’re getting back to the basics! With lots of paws, wet noses, laundry, and everyday shelter messes, we go through cleaning supplies FAST.

We could really use:

🫧 Dawn Dish Soap
🧺 Laundry Detergent
✨ Bleach or Bleach Tablets
🌸 Fabuloso — because with a shelter full of animals, a little help keeping things smelling fresh is always appreciated! 😅🐾

Every bottle, jug, and box helps us keep our shelter clean, comfortable, and ready to care for the animals who need us.

Thank you so much for always supporting our furry friends and helping us keep things squeaky clean! 🐶🐱💙

Widget has been at FDHS since July, but after a recent home trial, we learned just how limited her vision really is. This special needs girl is mostly blind, and we desperately need to find her a foster or forever home. The loud, busy shelter is overwhelming for a puppy who can’t see the world around her, and she deserves a safe, loving space where she can learn to navigate life at her own pace.

Widget is an absolute sweetheart who loves people, does great with kids and could benefit from a calm canine companion to help show her the ropes.

Can you open your home to Widget? Whether you can foster or adopt, this special girl needs someone willing to give her the chance she deserves. Let’s get this baby out of the shelter! 🥹💕
