Pancake = 100% purrrfection! 😸🥞

This 9 week old tiny tabby is literally the sweetest little girl. She had a rough start to life and is more than ready to spend the rest of her days being pampered like the princess she is!

Lacey is a gorgeous lil’ lady who recently came to FDHS as an owner surrender through no fault of her own. We were told she is right around a year old, and this tricolored wigglebutt is ALL about the good vibes and b***y wiggles. And those adorable little orange eyebrows? We are absolutely swooooooning!

We’re still getting to know Lacey, but we’ve already learned that she prefers a calmer environment where she can take things at her own pace. She was used to spending all day, every day with her previous owner, so adjusting to shelter life has been a pretty big change for her. Once she’s out of the kennel and spending time one-on-one with her people, her true personality really starts to shine. She is sweet, well-mannered and just an all-around lovely girl.

Lacey is also still very much a puppy and may need some help remembering that she is, in fact, NOT a tiny lap dog. She can be strong on leash and would benefit from brushing up on her leash manners. She keeps a clean kennel, so we suspect she is housebroken as well! We were told that Lacey is not a good fit for a home with cats or other small animals. She would also need slow, thoughtful introductions to any resident dogs.

Lacey has a lot of love to give and we know the right home is out there waiting for her!

🇺🇸 Labor Day Closure 🐾

Fort Defiance Humane Society office will be closed to the public on Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of Labor Day.

Our staff will still be making sure all of the animals are fed, cleaned, loved, and cared for. ❤️🐶🐱

We will reopen Tuesday, September 8 for our normal business hours, 11 AM to 4 PM.

We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and happy Labor Day! ❤️🤍💙

SUNDAY FUNDAY with Miss Dolly! 💅🏻

Miss Dolly is a beautiful gray tabby with a BIG personality to match her chubby little self. She recently arrived as an owner surrender and has wasted no time making herself known around the FDHS intake room.

Dolly has lived with other cats before, but these days she seems to prefer her peace and quiet. She’s been very sweet with her caregivers and has proven that underneath all that sass is a pretty wonderful gal.

Dolly is chunky, funky, fabulous and ready for a home of her very own. 👑🐾

Fort Defiance Humane Society is currently accepting applications for a **Kennel Attendant** to join our team!

If you love animals, aren’t afraid of hard work (or a little fur, slobber, and mess 🐶🐱), and want to make a difference in the lives of animals every day, we’d love to hear from you!

Kennel Attendants help with the daily care of our animals, including cleaning, feeding, walking, enrichment, and making sure each animal receives the care and attention they deserve.

❤️ Animal care experience is a plus, but a willingness to learn, work hard, and be part of a team is just as important.
