🐴✨ 2026 Deerfield Fair was a SUCCESS for Red Oak Stables! ✨🐴
And what a week it was for Team ROS!
We certainly didn’t ease into fair week. We started with some crazy rain, flooded stalls, moving campers, and a whole lot of scrambling before things even got underway. But horses were moved in, everyone settled, and Team ROS did what we do best — we figured it out and got to work!
The days started early with taking care of our horses at home before heading back to the fairgrounds for prep and showing, and the nights stretched late with night classes, laughs, and plenty of fun. It was exhausting, chaotic, and absolutely worth every minute.
This year brought familiar faces, new teams, new divisions, new disciplines, and lots of stepping outside of comfort zones. We even hauled some of our young horses in from home Thursday and Friday to experience the fair and compete in the in-hand classes.
And our horses and riders showed up!
🌟 Andi — at just 5 months old, Andi took on the Deerfield ring with her mom, Lauren, for two days of in-hand classes! They competed in some BIG classes, pinned, and even earned Reserve Champion in the Colts & Fillies Championship! Talk about starting them young!
🌟 Chloe returned to the fair with her little sister Andi and joined her in some of the in-hand classes and was an absolute superstar in those big classes. We were so happy to have this girl back in the ring!
🌟 The girls’ Bruncle Chevy returned to the fair ring alongside Makayla. What started as a last-minute decision to show turned into a very good boy moment for Chevy and Makayla — and we couldn’t be more proud!
🌟 Our very own Mema brought the ever-perfect Red horse into the in-hand ring Thursday. With some seriously large classes and great competition, Red did what Red does best and represented ROS beautifully.
🌟 Aidan even dabbled in the in-hand world with Kailynn and Morgan — because apparently we decided he needed to add another thing to his résumé!
🌟 Trudy brought her rescue mare Latte to the fair with the goal of giving her exposure to the show world. Both Trudy and Morgan showed Latte in-hand, and this mare walked into those big classes like she’d been doing it her whole life. Standing like a perfect lady and taking it all in!
Morgan also took Latte into a riding class. While the class didn’t go exactly as planned, the goal was never about ribbons — it was about experience, confidence, and teaching Latte that the show ring is nothing to be afraid of. And that’s a win in itself. ❤️
🌟 Kailynn & Toast — these two deserve a huge shoutout. Kailynn has put in countless hours, sweat, tears, and saddle time into her greenie, and working with a young horse is not always easy. But all that hard work paid off when she climbed aboard Toast and entered that big Deerfield ring. They earned ribbons in some BIG classes against seasoned show horses, and we couldn’t be more proud of them. Watching these two grow together has been incredible, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds as they continue molding each other into a team.
🌟 Suzanne stepped completely outside of her western comfort zone this season, showing in English tack all year and taking on the fair’s English classes. The first classes were a little rough — but with some coaching, practice, and determination, she came back and earned ribbons in her championships! Talk about pushing yourself and seeing the work pay off!
🌟 Briee & Bruno have grown SO much this season as a team. It’s been amazing watching their partnership develop and seeing how far they’ve come. We are so proud of this pair and can’t wait to see where they go next!
🌟 Morgan & Red — as always, these two are a team that is just fun to watch in the ring. Red is Morgan’s trusty steed, and they continue to make it look easy!
Morgan also took Dutton and really pushed herself outside of her comfort zone. Two weeks before the fair, she made the decision to present Dutton in Saddle Seat — because apparently there wasn’t enough going on already! 😂
But the partnership these two have built throughout the season really showed. They’ve spent the year learning each other, figuring each other out, and growing together. That work showed in the ring, both in Hunt Seat and Saddle Seat, and we couldn’t be prouder of the progress they’ve made.
And then, of course, there were all the moments that don’t come with ribbons — the late nights, the laughs, the new friendships, the teamwork, the nerves, the celebrations, the little victories, and the memories that we’ll carry with us long after the fairgrounds are empty.
Oh, and we absolutely cannot forget Red getting his lemonade and making the WMUR spotlight! 🍋😂📺 Because naturally, Red needed his own celebrity moment.
From our newest little 5-month-old competitor to our seasoned show horses, from first-time experiences to stepping into completely new disciplines, Team ROS showed up, worked hard, supported each other, and made us incredibly proud.
To every rider and every horse — we see the work you put in. We see the growth. We see the courage it takes to try something new. And we are SO proud of you. ❤️
Now that fair week is behind us, winter is officially here at ROS — which means it’s time to set new goals, put in the work, and come back even stronger next season.
2026 Deerfield Fair, you were one for the books.
