Three years ago, in this very surgery suite, Poppy was brought into the world via C-section. ❤️
For those who don’t know her story, Poppy was born with a severe cleft palate. Her chances of survival were slim, especially as a French Bulldog, Dr. George decided this little girl deserved a chance at life. 🥹
At the time, our head CVT, Kayla, was nursing her own child, but she took on the incredible challenge of tube-feeding Poppy every four hours for 12 weeks! That dedication gave Poppy the time she needed to grow stronger.
Once she was big and strong enough, Poppy underwent a very involved surgery to repair her cleft palate. Being the fighter she is, she recovered perfectly. Today, you would never know there was ever anything wrong with her. 🩷
She may be small, but she is mighty—and she only has eyes for her daddy, Dr. George. 😂
Poppy has decided her true calling is being a truck dog, where she spends her days sneak-attacking people through the window, sleeping as much as possible, playing on the console with her big brother Thor, and walking around the clinic like she owns the place. And honestly… she does. 😂
Today we celebrate 3 years of Poppy! 🎂🐾
From a tiny puppy who wasn’t supposed to make it, to a happy, healthy little girl who has stolen all of our hearts, Poppy is one of our very best success stories.
Happy 3rd Birthday, Poppy! We love you, you little fighter! ❤️
