A little DVC brag moment! 🌟

One of our wicked cool technicians, Ashley W., is currently attending veterinary school and recently had the incredible opportunity to perform an ultrasound on a Leopard! 🐆 As if that wasn’t amazing enough, she’s also been gaining hands-on experience working with Hippos, Rhinos, and other incredible species along the way.

We are so proud of Ashley’s hard work, dedication, and passion for veterinary medicine. Watching her chase her dream of becoming a veterinarian is inspiring, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things she accomplishes in the future.

Keep up the great work, Ashley! We are incredibly of you. And please keep sending us updates—we love seeing all the wild and wonderful experiences you’re having! ❤️🩺🐾🦏🦛🐆

👏🏼What’s👏🏼Your👏🏼 Best👏🏼Guess👏🏼 ANSWER!
Dr. Kim was called out to examine a horse with sudden lameness. Upon examination, she discovered a large rock firmly wedged into the sole of his hoof, causing significant discomfort and leading to an abscess. Once the rock was carefully removed, the abscess was able to drain properly, providing the horse with almost immediate relief. Nothing beats seeing a patient feel better right away!

Great work, Dr. Kim, thanks for helping this handsome guy get back on his feet! 👏🐴💙

Several members of our team have already stopped to help turtles safely cross the road this spring, but in the excitement (and urgency!) nobody managed to grab a photo. Yesterday, however, Dr. George and Ashley completed their first turtle assist of the year and remembered to document it! 📸

If you encounter a turtle trying to cross the road, safely pull over if possible and help it cross in the direction it was already heading. Please do not relocate it—there’s a good chance it is close to its nesting area and moving it can prevent it from finding its way back.

⚠️ Be especially cautious around snapping turtles, and always wash your hands after handling any wildlife.

If a turtle is injured, appears sick, or is otherwise in distress, bring it to us or contact NH Turtle Rescue in Nottingham, NH at 603-417-4944.

The biggest threats facing our local turtles include:
🚗 Vehicle strikes
🐕 Dog attacks
🚜 Lawnmowers
🎣 Fishing hooks and fishing line

How to safely assist a turtle:
• Approach from behind.
• Place one hand on the back of the shell.
• With your other hand, grasp the top edge of the shell near the head (keeping your knuckles facing the turtle’s head).
• Move your first hand to grasp the shell near the tail.
• Carry the turtle low to the ground and place it safely on the side of the road it was heading toward.

And just like that, you’ve helped save a life! ❤️🐢

Thank you for helping protect our local wildlife

FYI: Exit 3 off 101 is being lined today. At some point, all exits (east and west bound) will be closed. Your best bet is to get off on Exit 2 coming from the Auburn/Manchester side or Exit 5 coming from Raymond and the sea coast. We understand you may be running late due to these closures.

What a week! 🐾

Dentals, pig castrations, eye ulcers, unusual patients, dog walks, ticks (so many ticks! 😳), mass removals, lancing abscesses, squeezing in workouts, and everything in between—the list goes on!

No two days are ever the same, and that’s exactly why we love what we do. Caring for our patients, helping our clients, and working alongside an incredible team makes even the busiest weeks rewarding.

When you’re doing what you love, it hardly feels like work. ❤️🐴🐶🐱
