This week, a client said something about our practice that really stuck with us:

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

This is our work family. Our people. Our team. And we’re pretty lucky to have each other. 💜🐾

We were REALLY hoping this one would stump you all… but apparently our followers are just as weirdly knowledgeable as our veterinary team. 😂

As hilarious as some of your guesses were, the cow farmers knew immediately what this high-tech veterinary device is. And if you’re a cow farmer and you recognize this… there’s a good chance you’ve had a calf delivery go VERY, VERY wrong. 🐄😳

This antique bottle has been riding around on Dr. George’s truck for almost 20 YEARS. Ashley has spent the last 16 YEARS trying to throw it away.

And FINALLY… her patience paid off. She got to witness the legendary w**e bottle in action. 🍷😂

THE ANSWER: A W**E BOTTLE.

Yep. A w**e bottle.

Because apparently when you’re a cow vet, your equipment list includes some very legitimate medical supplies… and also whatever you can find in the recycling bin. 😂

Sometimes after a cow gives birth, she continues to push and ends up prolapsing her uterus. It’s a serious emergency that requires getting that uterus back where it belongs—FAST.

Dr. George compresses the uterus, pushes it back in, and then uses the w**e bottle as an extension of his arm to help tip it over the pelvic brim so the uterus can return to its proper position.

And if you’re wondering what this procedure looks like…

Imagine Dr. George standing behind a cow, soaking wet, covered in amniotic fluid, blood, manure, and approximately 47 other substances that absolutely should not be on a person. 😂

He was wet. Smelly. Sticky. Disgusting. Basically a walking biohazard.

And because apparently personal hygiene and self-preservation are not part of the job description, he then had to sit on a grain bag to drive home so he didn’t ruin the truck seat.

But don’t worry…

He did what any hardworking veterinarian would do after saving a cow and getting completely covered in bodily fluids:

He stopped for a McFlurry. 🍦😂

Priorities.

So the next time you see a random w**e bottle rolling around on Dr. George’s truck, just know…

It’s not trash.

It’s 20-year-old, vintage, emergency cow equipment. 🍷🐄😂

This little stray kitty was brought to us after being hit by a car in Raymond on 102 near New Christ Church. Intact male, black, around 2 years old, no microchip, no collar, super friendly!

Three years ago, in this very surgery suite, Poppy was brought into the world via C-section. ❤️

For those who don’t know her story, Poppy was born with a severe cleft palate. Her chances of survival were slim, especially as a French Bulldog, Dr. George decided this little girl deserved a chance at life. 🥹

At the time, our head CVT, Kayla, was nursing her own child, but she took on the incredible challenge of tube-feeding Poppy every four hours for 12 weeks! That dedication gave Poppy the time she needed to grow stronger.

Once she was big and strong enough, Poppy underwent a very involved surgery to repair her cleft palate. Being the fighter she is, she recovered perfectly. Today, you would never know there was ever anything wrong with her. 🩷

She may be small, but she is mighty—and she only has eyes for her daddy, Dr. George. 😂

Poppy has decided her true calling is being a truck dog, where she spends her days sneak-attacking people through the window, sleeping as much as possible, playing on the console with her big brother Thor, and walking around the clinic like she owns the place. And honestly… she does. 😂

Today we celebrate 3 years of Poppy! 🎂🐾

From a tiny puppy who wasn’t supposed to make it, to a happy, healthy little girl who has stolen all of our hearts, Poppy is one of our very best success stories.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Poppy! We love you, you little fighter! ❤️

Jettson decided he didn’t want “the strap,” so naturally, he ate it to avoid a spanking. 🤦‍♀️

Unfortunately for Jettson, his master plan landed him in surgery! A little intestinal surgery to remove the belt pieces solved the problem, and thankfully, he’s back home and back to terrorizing his family. 😂🐾

Another reminder that if they can reach it, they can—and will—eat it!
