Yesterday, I had the amazing opportunity to take my private mentorship student (Animal Reiki), Aileen of Doggie D'Tails mobile grooming to my favorite little animal sanctuary for hospice animals, Old Dogs Go To Helen ❤️🐾

I couldn't think of a better place to finish out her mentorship and deliver her attunement. Thank you so much Helen St. Pierre for welcoming us to your little slice of heaven on earth.
When we arrived, of course all the pups lit up in a choir of barking, but that settled the moment we envolked that beautiful reiki energy and began to open up our channels. Within minutes everybody quieted and settled in, many making their way over to both of us and asking for the energetic support. It was beautiful to witness and we were honored to be part of it.💜✨️
A quick sidebar: I know that for many folks, animal lovers, the word "sanctuary" can bring up mixed emotions; especially considering more recent cases that have been in the public eye or across media. BUT, and I mean this with every ounce of my being....Helen, and ODGTH is one of the very few sanctuaries that do it right. You may think spending hours with animals who are disabled or on hospice would be sad, or even depressing; but all I feel there is so much LOVE and kindness. ❤️
Old Dogs Go to Helen should be the archetype for what a real sanctuary should be. Each animal is seen for who they are as individuals and care choices are made selflessly and always in the best interest of each individual. Yes, often times those choices surround end of life decisions, and it's utterly important for us humans to realize death is not a bad thing, not the worse option, and more often than not, in these cases, is the kindest gift.
More often than not, "sanctuaries" become warehouses for animals that are medically and/or behaviorally suffering. Because God forbid we give them peace to cross over; but instead at ANY cost they force life. Months, years, entire lifetimes with inadequate care and/or stuffed into a kennel never to leave. This is not life, that is no quality.
