First National class ever. National Champion. So unbelievably proud of this young lady. Those who know Hanna Johnson know she works a " real job" from 5am to 3pm. Gets in her car and comes to work at the barn parttime. Goes to bed. Gets up does it again 5 days a week. Lockett is her first showhorse and they share a very special connection. She did not buy a made horse . She picked up a 3 year old with 60 sporadic days undersaddle and crossed her fingers. I could not be more happy for her. Well deserved lil rocker chic . You did it!! We all love you both

Around the water trough:
Since I'm constantly told I don't post enough on my page I figured I'd share some recent conversations with other trainers. Things we wish more people knew or opinions. I'll start with what I and many trainers think of as myths.
1. " You can't ride papers." Ladies and gentlemen, not true. Most preformance trainers will tell you we ride papers daily. I can look at papers and 80% of the time I know what to expect in looks and mind. Its not 100% of the time but it's a nice little cheat more often then not. Please don't come at me with " My grade mystery was the best horse ever." I'm sure it was and there are exceptions to every rule. Yes I've heard of Snowman and Seabisket. These stories are famous BECAUSE they were anomalies. Look at the pedigree when you shop. Find someone who understands it if you don't. It saves money . Don't breed if you don't know the temperment and quirks of the parents or think they won't pass on. Personality and work ethic are as genetic as conformation.
2. " Feeding horses treats makes biters". I'll call this half true. Indiscriminately feeding treats may cause a mouthy horse. Using treats as a reward for good behavior is a tool that's nice to have in your toolbox. Horse trainers are one of the only animal trainers who routinely waste this opportunity. Every other species of trainer has this figured out guys. Catch up. You will never convince me a horse is less intelligent then a dog , mice or dolphins. Learn how to treat and when to treat and treat away. With purpose. Teach a horse HOW to take treats. (Happy to show anyone how to do this. )
" Bad legs are the worst thing a horse can have". A long back and a bad brain are literally worse to deal with . Id argue a bad brain is the worst thing you will ever deal with in a preformance horse. When it comes to conformation nothing sucks more then a long backed horse . I love our chiropractor. Shes a vet and aside from being a magician at her trade she's a ray of sunshine to have around. I get to see her monthly when I have a weak loined long backed horse. But , I'd rather see her for about anything else. It travels to every aspect of the body. I can make a steep shoulder or chubby foot work on a good brained short backed horse. But if either of those things are not good it's a massive challenge.

I have had 3 reserved stalls backed out of this week on what was supposed to be a full barn for November. Due to this We will be requiring a $250 non refundable deposit on any training or boarding reservations of more then 1 week. With limited availability I simply cannot hold a stall with no deposit for any legnth of time in the future. In other news we have 3 available stalls lol..

Breaking News! Our state-of-the-art indoor arena is now complete and ready for occupancy! We have limited availability for stalls this fall. Choose from one of our training packages starting at $1000 or lesson slots for $45. Our facilities include an 180x120 outdoor arena, 120x60 indoor arena, 60ft roundpen, outdoor hot water wash rack, and a hot walker. We provide twice daily hay feeding (supplements at owner's expense). Opt for our standard stalls with daily turnout for $400 per month or upgrade to our premium package that includes lounging, hot walker, grooming, and blanketing services for $600 per month. Unfortunately, pasture boarding is not available at this time. Join us at our private facility and give your horse the best care and training.

A: C**t starting is limited to horses that plan to stay in training and show.
Q: "Do you allow haul ins?"
A: Only for lessons. Or scheduled group rides

I will be listing a few of my back burner horses for sale soon. As soon as show season wraps up for us and I have barn space they will come in to get started or refreshed. They are available for $3000 before then. All have been handled started in the past and stalled, clipped, bathed , blanketed , clipped ect.
1. 7 year old Bey Ambition daughter. Has had 60 days in the past . 15h bay . big bodied embryo transfer only as she will reject her foals. Too many halter titles to list. Most recently Reg v Reserve Champion open 2022
2. 14 year old HA mare 15.1 Regional/ national titled in halter. Broke for intermediate rider. Has been trail ridden and shown undersaddle.
6 year old grey mare serious sporthorse prospect most friendly horse on the property. 15.1 CH Marquis x Major Afire daughter . Video available
Prices will be raised once they come in and get going undersaddle.

We offer not only full time training and lessons but do take boarders! We will be having our adult ranch practice nights again this summer. Quick walk to misslesite park for easy trail rides.
