The bernedoodle puppies seem to love water on these hot, muggy days. Setting up a wading pool is a great way to allow puppies to play, splash, and cool off. But Kinnick has other ideas. To him, it's a giant water bowl.

Rudy, formerly Puck, sparked a lot of smiles this morning as he welcomed RAGBRAI riders who biked through Grundy Center. He was part of a Pet a Pup event to raise money for a local dog park. According to Jayni Scott, riders from all over the country loved him.

As we look forward to the next litter of F1b bernedoodles, it gives me joy to see how well our most recent puppies are doing in their new homes. It is especially touching to see what they bring to the lives of kids: friendship, summer fun, and a shared nap after a busy day of play.

How could this happen? I missed posting Tater Tot with his new parents, Zach Skopec and Kendall Oldham of Iowa City. Tater Tot is the biggest of the litter. He has the coolest coat with alternating black and white patches that shimmer and move when there is even the slightest breeze. "We don't mind big," said Kendall and Zach. Tater Tot's new name is Kinnick since his parents are big Iowa Hawkeyes fans. He is already learning so much. He knows some commands, including sit. His parents are exposing him to lots of cool experiences. For instance, he had a puppy play date and visited his dad at work. Such a great puppy!

It was a hot and muggy day when Tanya Donlan got to bring home her puppy. Judy is exceptional: so sweet and fluffy with the most beautiful eyes. I wish you could see them in the picture. They literally melt your heart and make all your worries go away. Judy will be known as Ellie. I know she will enjoy life with Tanya and Trevor Fisk in Mabel, Minnesota. I have to admit that I was a little choked up when I said goodbye to her, the last puppy of the litter. It has been a privilege to raise these beautiful puppies the first eight or nine weeks of their lives.

Another surprise! Rob Brenart of Yorkville, Illinois went on a secret trip the other day to pick up lovely Minnie. He did not travel all the way as we offer transportation services too. His wife Heather was waiting expectantly at home. Their three kids had wished for a puppy for a long time, but had no idea that their parents planned to surprise them. There were hugs and smiles when Minnie came leaping across the lawn. She is such a friendly and trusting puppy, always ready to play. Heather reports that the whole family already loves her so much.
