River & Summer Girl here to talk grooming...
A lot of people think grooming is the easiest job in the world, we "play with puppies" all day ...Fact is yes we do love & cuddle on your fur babies, however truth is grooming is hard.
Yes grooming is something your pet needs on a regular schedule & we do appreciate our regular clients more than you even know.
Grooming is not just about keeping your pet looking fresh & clean.
Regular grooming is about your pets overall physical health & emotional happiness. It is preventing painful matting and even detecting health issues early ...
The ugly truth is we are under a huge amount of stress & in a constant time crunch ...Dont get me wrong we LOVE ❤️ our jobs but we as groomers are biten, scratched, kicked, pulled on, pushed on & jumped on, sometimes, heaven forbid its serious enough to require stitches or other medical intervention...
Not ever dog is the sweet little angel you see at home. They are scared, nervous & anxious, we do our very best to make it as pleasant as possible but most aren't huge fans of the overall process.
We as groomers stand for long hours, bend over tubs all day, lift heavy dogs multiple times, we have carpal tunnel,back, knee & feet issues. We are fighting some days with screaming, biting, wiggly dogs who hate the drying process or water itself & we do all this while using sharp objects, trying to maintain their safety as well as ours. Days like these we go home mentally, emotionally & physically exhausted, bruised, bloody & barely able to walk...
And yet some still dont understand why grooming is the price it is or why we take a bit longer today then anticipated. We stop multiple times a day to clean up p*e, p**p & if a dog is difficult it sometimes requires more than one of us to complete the groom.
So yes again we absolutely LOVE our jobs, the relationships weve built with the pets & their parents, weve worked tirelessly to build a successful thriving business. We take pride in watching the dogs leave looking & feeling amazing!So just know we are doing are very best & we appreciate you all, please be patient with us & give us the respect we work hard for, because dog grooming is HARD, physically & mentally...
This industry is hard, we rarely receive compliments but are definitely made aware of every hair out of place.
Just know we are truly trying our best & thru the aches, pains, scratches & bites we truly love these animals & our clients.
So thank you, we appreciate everyone of you & your continued support & trusting us with all your babies ...
So next time you go to your grooming appointment just know theres a lot more behind the scenes than simply just loving your dog 🐕 ❤️
