Tails Humane Society Tails Humane Society provides a safe haven for over 2,200 animals each year. (Non-profit, 501c3)

Additional services provided through partnership with other non-profits:

In partnership with the Voluntary Action Center, we provide free pet food and preventative veterinary care to Meals on Wheels clients who own pets. We also provide free boarding to the pets of domestic violence victims in partnership with Safe Passage Domestic Violence Center, so victims can leave their abuser without fearing for the safety of their pets.

Happy Monday! 🐾 You know what time it is- our favorite post of the week, the adoption celebration post! Our tails are wagging and our hearts are full after another amazing week of adoptions. Here's to starting the week off with happy news and even happier pets! Last week, THIRTY SIX of our furry friends found their forever homes! 🎉 Join us in celebrating every adopter and sending the happiest of tails to the cats, kittens, critters, dogs, and puppies who found their forever families! 🐹 Wednesday is a sweet, social guinea pig looking for an experienced owner who will be patient and respect her boundaries. She has come a long way from being timid and difficult to handle and now enjoys spending time with people.
She must be handled in a secure, enclosed area, as she can quickly dart away. A towel is often the easiest way to pick her up. Once comfortable, she loves exploring, watching her people, and even climbing into your lap! She prefers to be the only guinea pig and can be territorial.
Wednesday would love a patient family who will continue helping her build confidence! 🩷

Adoption Update: Luna Mae Shay (formerly known as Princess Celestia) 😇❤
"Luna Mae Shay (aka DuMae) has been the sweetest addition to our lives since July 2026. We originally went to Tails just for a fun date idea, but little did we know we were about to be chosen! She popped right out of her hiding spot, climbed into our laps, and stayed there for 40 minutes, we knew right then we couldn’t leave without her. Despite her small size, she has a huge personality! She loves to talk, hunt for flies, and play with her toy coffee cup, but most of all, she loves to cuddle. We wake up most mornings to her purring on our chests, and she never misses an opportunity for an afternoon lap nap. We are so grateful to have been chosen by such a special girl! 🐾❤️"

🔔🔔 Meet Bella, a super enthusiastic 3 year old love bug who is ready to bounce right into your heart and be your ultimate shadow! She is a total velcro dog who wants all your attention all the time, showering you with endless affection, tail wags, and excitement just for being in the room. She loves music, rides in the car, butt pats and sitting outside in the sun.
Not only is she packed with charm and personality, but Bella is also incredibly smart. She already has her indoor manners locked down as a fully house-trained pro and boasts an impressive resume with commands like sit, down, and paw. If you are looking for a brilliant, loving best friend to keep you smiling every single day, Bella is your girl! 🩷

Adoption Update: Rocky (formerly Echo, Harbor/Sailors litter) ❤🐾

"After our girl Izzy passed, our house felt so quiet. Then we found Rocky—and within just a few minutes, we completely fell in love with him. Since the day he came home, he has brought so much love, joy, laughter, and, of course, plenty of puppy chaos into our lives. 🥰 It has been so much fun watching him experience all of his firsts—his first holidays, swimming, and even getting a doggy brother of his own. Every new experience has been an adventure with this boy. He loves his human sister, we have found he prefers short walks and does not care for the word “hush”. I would not recommend hiring him, he tends to fall asleep on the job. This past weekend, Rocky celebrated his 1st birthday surrounded by his brother and his best friend. We are so grateful to Tails Humane Society for bringing this crazy, sweet, goofy boy into our lives. We truly cannot imagine our family without him. ❤️"
