NO If trained right they protect us.

Wrong! I hate info like this that can be misleading or misunderstood..

Genetics can be a big part such as high prey drive vs non prey.  Genetics can’t be out trained. You can be consistent and do all the training in the world. Once that prey driven dog sees prey genetics come back. Unless you’re relying on ecollar at that point that’s not trained that’s scared to feel pain. Certain triggers/ behavior can only be managed.

I’d hate to see so many get misleading info And blame training only. Understand the type of dog you own. Watch Behavior it’s displaying. Narrow where the behavior stems from. Understand genetics vs poor training are two different issues. Train accordingly to that.

Two completely different dogs. Same breed.
One pulls on the leash, ignores commands, gets distracted by every squirrel and stranger. The other walks calm, listens, and actually enjoys being out with you.

The difference isn't genetics. It's training.
Rottweilers are smart, loyal, and powerful but that power needs direction. Without it, you get a dog that's hard to control. With it, you get a dog you can trust anywhere.

Here's the truth: training isn't a one-time class. It's daily consistency. Five minutes of focused commands every day beats one hour once a week.

Start early. Be consistent. Reward the behavior you want and ignore the behavior you don't.
A trained Rottweiler isn't born that way; it's built, one walk, one command, one repetition at a time.

As a dog trainer it irks my nerves seeing the I don’t know what I own people Act!!

Breeds are categorized for a reason. working breeds, guardian breeds, hunting breeds, live Stock breeds, companion breeds just to name a few.

Stop buying  Guardian Breeds and wondering why they’re protective or Non friendly.

Stop  buying livestock guardians if you don’t own livestock.
Stop buying game breeds  if you don’t plan on using them in wild game.
Want a dog that loves everything Go get a companion breed.

Practice proper muzzling. Proper leashing, and boundaries. Leash your damn dogs in public. Stop using these 16 foot horse ropes.
Stop allowing your dogs to run onto other people properties, because you don’t want to put a fence.

Maintain your dogs accordingly in public. Avoid certain situations depending on your dogs temperament and your own control. Lots of issues could be avoided with being more responsible owners🤷🏻‍♀️

Get asked frequently do we only train mastiffs?? The answer is No. We’ve trained every breed. We just specialize in mastiffs it’s our Favorite category of Breed. Here’s an older client a Mal. We We train all dogs No breed restrictions🥰

My Professional Thoughts..

Dogs are animals we desensitize to a degree. They’re still animals with animal tendencies. people seem to forget this. many owners treat dogs as humans instead of respecting them as what they are “ pack animals”. Dogs shouldn’t be your equal. No they are not humans “little babies” doesnt mean you cant treat them great. Just stop expecting them to live and  accept everything and everyone because you do. Social or non social any dog can bite they have teeth. when animals feels triggered they will do so. These triggers are not always predicted so cant be prevented. Lastly different breeds different personalities, take to situations different. Some more guardy than others. Know your breeds and expect that temp. Genetics are genetics. Animals in general are unpredictable at times regardless of training or breed I’ll leave it at that. Have a great Holiday🫶🏼
