Dear Breeders,
This is to clarify how our event and MADB’s Sunflower Classic ended up with the same dates in May 2027.
MADB held its 2025 event on May 2–3. Later that year, following EweTrack’s inaugural event in September 2025, EweTrack members expressed interest in an event in the Western United States. With MADB’s May 2-3rd event in mind, EweTrack secured a facility in Utah for May 14–15, 2027, on the understanding that this date would fall after MADB’s event and before WSDA’s.
EweTrack did not publicly announce these dates at the time because the board wanted to evaluate the success of its September 2026 event and confirm continued membership support for a Western event before making a public commitment. Following that event’s success, and a post-event survey, respondents favored an event in the West. EweTrack subsequently moved forward with its plans and secured the participation of three South African inspectors.
Only recently did the two organizations discover that their 2027 events had been scheduled for the same dates (May 14-15). EweTrack tried to change the dates, but the Utah facility is fully booked through the fall, so there's no alternative.
We understand that overlapping dates are not ideal, but after discussion with MADB’s Board, we believe both events can proceed as scheduled. We will, however, coordinate our auction times so they don’t overlap.
We want to emphasize that there was no malicious intent or intention to conflict with or undermine either organization. We regret any inconvenience this scheduling overlap may cause and appreciate our members' understanding and that of the broader Dorper community.
