At just one year old, Estella has faced unimaginable challenges. Before arriving in our care, she survived a house fire and suffered the heartbreaking loss of a litter of stillborn puppies.💔

Yet somehow, this sweet girl hasn't let her past define her.❤️‍🩹

Estella is a loving, gentle companion who adores being near her humans. She's doing great in her foster home, gets along with the resident dog, enjoys playtime, and is already potty trained. Her favorite thing, though, is simply being loved.🥰

A meet-and-greet is required for all residents (furry and human) in the home before adoption. Estella is ready to leave her past behind and find the forever family she deserves. 🐾

Meet Winston!

Winston came to us as a stray that had not been claimed. He is just about to turn 4 years old and has been with us for almost 2 years. He is looking to find his forever home!

He is a friendly guy, and he would love the chance to meet any humans residing in the home. He would do best in a home with older children. Winston is a powerhouse and very strong. He does walk on a leash and does pretty well but does pull hard and you need to have a good grip on him. He would need proper introductions to any dogs that are in the home or who frequently visit to make sure that it will be the right fit. Smaller dogs and cats would NOT be a good fit. Because of his strength, we feel a physical fence is best for him.

He is not one to be shy around new people, and will most likely look to you to give him some kind words, some scratches on his neck, and maybe even a treat for good measure! He does love to go on field trips with his best buddy to get a pup cup.

He did have bilateral TPLO repair surgery in February, 2025 and has recovered nicely. He has some allergies and has had some treatment including medication and allergy shots. He seems to be doing well now. We have him on a NO CHICKEN diet which has helped also.

Isla Beth came to AHeinz as a terrified dog. Isla was not socialized and did not want to be touched. But in a foster home, he showed an incredible lust for life and it didn’t take long for a kind family to see his potential to be a sweet, joyous companion. He will be joining his new mom and dad and fur brother, along with 3 cats, 10 chickens, and some fish. Happy life sweet boy! You deserve it!

Meet Taffy! He was found as a stray several months ago and we haven't been able to find him a home. He is a male and we are not sure of his age. We did try the bunny rescue, but they weren't able to help at this time. Is anyone looking for a very handsome bunny?

Brother Darryl came to us as a stray with Darryl, so we don't know much about his life before arriving at the rescue. He's a sweet, gentle boy who is ready to find a loving home of his own.

He is a little reserved when meeting new people or exploring new situations. He likes to hang back, take everything in, and make sure he's comfortable before joining the fun. Once he warms up, though, his friendly personality starts to shine.

Brother Darryl would thrive with a patient family willing to give him a little time to settle in and build confidence. In return, you'll gain a loyal, sweet companion who just wants to feel safe and loved.

Darryl's story before arriving at the shelter is a bit of a mystery. He came to us as a stray and sadly, no one ever came to claim them. While we may not know his past, we do know that Darryl is a happy, friendly boy who loves people.

He's confident and adventurous. He walks nicely on a leash and is usually happy to take the lead when exploring. Darryl has an easygoing, cheerful personality that makes him a joy to be around.

Darryl is ready to find a family who will give him the love and stability he deserves. As with all adoptions, a meet-and-greet with all household residents—both human and furry—is required to help ensure the best fit for everyone.

Evalyn and Tommy, along with mom and dad as well as AHeinz57 alum Frank, had a lemonade stand to raise money for our dogs. They brought us a check today and got to see some of the dogs they are helping! Thank you!

Willow is a very sweet 4-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer that originally came to us as a stray in 2023. She had been running for months before a team of our volunteers and employees caught her using a live trap. She was adopted but recently came back to us due to issues with her furry siblings and resource guarding. She will need to be the only pet in her new home and will need a physical fence

She does get nervous around fast movements and loud noises, so older, calmer children would be best for her. Once she is be comfortable enough with people, she will get the zoomies and have a blast running in the yard. This beautiful girl is looking for someone to be patient, love her and make her a member of the family.
