Badger Kennel Club (BKC) is an AKC sanctioned, all volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to dogs, and helping dogs and their owners develop a positive and rewarding relationship. BKC holds classes that use positive dog training techniques and sponsors educational events for people interested in dogs. The Badger Kennel Club has more than 135 members who own over 65 different breeds of dogs.

The majority of Club members live in Madison, Wisconsin and surrounding areas. Our volunteer instructors are dedicated to dogs, and many have decades of experience working with and training dogs to be companions, good canine citizens, and successful participants in American Kennel Club (AKC) events.

* BKC's Objectives *
- To provide educational opportunities of interest to people who like dogs;
- To encourage the training of all dogs for competition and good canine citizenship;
- To foster and maintain friendship among the membership and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and obedience trials;
- To further the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs;
- To encourage and support dog shows and obedience trials under the rules of the American Kennel Club; and finally,
- To advance the best interests of the dog and the dog fancier in all matters.

* Helping You Train Your Dog *
No matter what your goals are for you and your dog (a companion, therapy work, competing in a variety of AKC events with your dog, etc.) BKC offers a broad range of dog training classes designed to help first time and veteran dog owners alike develop a positive relationship with their dog. Classes feature:
- instructors with years of experience working with and training dogs,
- curriculums emphasizing positive reinforcement and step-by-step learning,
- small class sizes so dogs and their owners receive one on one attention,
- convenient schedule with classes held on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings,
- fully matted instructional areas, and

Wags & Whiskers Walkers were out enjoying the weather in Sun Prairie this morning! We had 14 dogs join in to walk 1 mile and many owners stayed for the extended 3mile route. Such a fun experience and easy way to get more exercise for you & your dog. Some of us are working on AKC Fit Dog titles as well. Thanks to Alice Banks for organizing.
