"Shout out to Healthier at Home Veterinary Care! My senior Basset, Fred, is absolutely terrified at the vet's office (to the point of defecating when he sees our vet). We spent endless months doing happy visits and tried multiple combinations of prescription drugs to help him be less stressed...no luck.
I recently learned about Healthier at Home and had to give them a try. What a success! Dr. Magnison and Kassie were fantastic! They spent time just sitting with Fred, feeding him treats, and making friends before they ever tried to touch him. They were able to administer two vaccinations and do a blood draw without a single growl or threat to bite all while Fred was not on a collar/leash and did not wear a muzzle (yes, he was still on happy drugs...10 mg Ace). He had the ability to walk away and chose to stay in their presence to get more treats! That was HUGE!
Because he was being such a cooperative boy, Dr. Magnison wanted to end on a positive note. Therefore, she offered to come back and tackle his nail trim on a different day. I cannot tell you how much I loved and appreciated that!
The second visit went just as well. Needless to say, I would highly recommend Healthier at Home, Dr. Magnison, and Kassie to anyone who has furbabies that struggle going to the vet."
