🌲This Week's Walking Schedule:

TUES (10/20) at 10am: Cashew at Delco Park. Meeting at the first parking lot on the left.
✅Likely to be low distractions.

WED (10/21) at 6pm: Eevee at Englewood Park. Meeting at middle parking lot.
💕Possible distractions, but easiest to create space/distance.

FRI (10/23) at 10am: Cashew at Cox Arboretum. Meeting in grass in front of the first pond.
❗🦢Wildlife distractions and tight spaces.

These walks are FREE to join! We recommend commenting or messaging so we know to wait for you.

Our dogs will NOT be greeting others on-leash for safety, training, and socializing. Please use us as controlled distractions! Come hang with us, or practice from afar; Whatever works best for you!

Unfortunately, we're lucky if we get to practice finding rats once a week😔 so I tend to stress about combining enrichment with trial practice. I think we'd both have more fun if I put aside her Novice title goal for now..

Roughly a year later, I was Knowledge Assessed with the
1-2 years later, I studied and earned my Certification.

For 6 years I have continued my education, worked with wonderful trainers, and made a difference in many people's lives. I dreamed of a career where I can explore & enhance relationships between people and their pets. I made that dream happen💕

We want to thank new (and current) clients for filling up our schedule these next two weeks!!

Unfortunately that means we've paused walks while we create training plans & homework. We will be planning walks next week for mornings, midday, and maybe the weekend.

Most of our new clients come from referrals, which says a lot about the relationships we build with our community 💕 We'd love to hear your favorite moment training with us in the comments!

Fawn earned her Instinct title today!! She alerted to a rat in 57seconds (only 3 seconds to spare)🙃

She had two Novice runs, which she ran out of time for both 💔
Thinking we'll take a break from trials until she's a bit faster. Still proud of her for doing her best despite how distracting the environment was!!

Fawn will be attending PetFest this Saturday with friends! You are welcome to give her a treat; but please, Do NOT Pet

Fawn is friendly and enjoys public outings. However, she is very firm about her personal space. We've had people rush at & touch her early on and she did not like it at all. Fawn was VERY tolerant during these experiences, only showing teeth and backing up🙃 But somehow telling people "She said no" and all the teeth flashing didn't stop them from trying to touch her... since then, she wears a vest to deter those experiences.

Dogs have preferences! Some love pets and excited greetings, others prefer calm or no touching. When Fawn wears her vest/harness, people do usually ask before interacting with her. Fawn has grown to enjoy socializing because we ensured her boundaries were respected.

To keep Fawn happy, comfortable, and social: We advocate for her space.

We got lucky with Fawn and Cashew.

They are our dream dogs. Willing to learn and adaptable to their environments. Obviously we provide what they need to excel in these areas, but everything just seems to click into place with them.

Not all of our dogs are like this. A lot of dogs aren't.

We have our own personal experience with challenging temperaments, mistakes in training, and broken brains. But we love them all the same.

We show off the easiest, best looking moments with our favorite pair. But know that we have many drafts of posts about real life with our family of misfits💕

Toby is a sweet terrier mix that has excelled at every training game we play. He's conquered most of his FOMO, has a polite routine when guests enter the home, and makes excellent choices around distractions! Toby is one of a kind when it comes to a canine companion. His family is so lucky to have a loyal, fun, adaptable dog; and Toby is lucky to have humans who are committed & consistent with his training/care.
