Paw Patrol Dayton Paw Patrol, a foster based, all-volunteer group, that work to better the lives of dogs and cats

Purpose

- To rescue and re-home neglected, abused, or otherwise unwanted dogs and cats into loving homes.
- To provide shelter in the form of a lean-to or doghouse to outdoor animals in an effort to keep them dry and warm.
- To provide outdoor dogs with alternatives to chaining in order to improve their quality of life.
- To promote the importance of spaying/neutering dogs and cats and to offer

this service to pets in our community.
- To provide information to the public about the negative aspects of dog tethering.
- To assist owners with necessary resources to allow them to keep their pet happy, healthy, and out of the already over-crowded shelter system.

Meet Billie Bob — a gentle soul with a heart full of sweetness!
Billie Bob is a quiet, lovable boy who doesn’t have much to say—he’s not much of a barker and prefers to show his affection in softer ways. He enjoys spending time outside and will happily take care of his business, though he’ll need a watchful eye as he’s still working on perfecting his house manners. Belly bands have been a helpful tool for him in the meantime.
This handsome guy has a bit of an independent streak—he likes being outdoors so much that coming back inside can take a little encouragement. Sometimes a tasty treat like lunch meat or cheese does the trick, but not always—Billie Bob likes to keep you guessing!
When meeting new people, Billie Bob can be shy and timid at first. He needs a patient, understanding home that will give him the time and space to build trust. Once he warms up, though, his sweet nature truly shines.
Billie Bob is crate trained and has done well around other dogs, especially during his time at the vet. While his experience with cats is limited, he didn’t seem bothered by a feline friend wandering nearby. He also appears to do just fine around children, including his current family’s grandchildren.
At around 6 years old, this charming mixed-breed boy is ready to find a calm, loving home where he can continue to grow in confidence and feel safe. With a little patience and a lot of love, Billie Bob will make a wonderfully loyal companion.

Meet Sammy Jo! He hasn’t had the easiest path in life, but you’d never know it by the gentle way he’s beginning to trust again. This sweet boy is slowly stepping out of his shell and showing us the loving heart that’s been there all along. He is a white 10 year old Maltese who is incredibly sweet and enjoys being petted and loved on by his people. He’s starting to show his playful side by recently wagging his tail and initiating play with one of the smaller dogs in his foster home. He is fully potty trained and has never had an accident in the house or his crate. His crate is his safe haven, a place he willingly goes to relax and feel secure. He also does well with children and enjoys calm, gentle interaction. Sammy Jo does have food aggression and will need structured feeding with clear, consistent boundaries. He must be fed separately, and his space around food needs to be respected. With routine and predictability, he does well. He also has a collapsing trachea and requires medication twice daily. His future family will need to stay committed to keeping him on his medication schedule to ensure he stays comfortable and healthy. Sammy Jo values his personal space, especially around other dogs. If dogs are constantly in his face or if food is involved, he can become overwhelmed. However, he is making steady progress and is slowly building tolerance with proper introductions. Sammy Jo will thrive in a home that believes in structure, patience, and consistency. He needs a family who understands that trust takes time and that giving him appropriate space is a form of love. In return, you’ll get a loyal companion who is learning every day that the world can be safe again. The quiet cuddles, the tail wags, the small victories. Jelly is one of the sweetest dogs we have ever met! She was dropped off at a vet office to be euthanized because of a large fatty mass on her chest after no longer being useful to her puppy mill operators. Thankfully, we were able to get her in time and rescue her! She will have the mass removed, along with being spayed, next month and then listed for adoption.
