Meet Piper!

This sweet girl recently came into our care after her previous owner sadly passed away, and now we’re hoping to help her find a loving forever home. 🤍

Piper is a 5-year-old female Doodle who is currently staying with us while she waits for her new family. She is up-to-date on her vaccines, and before going home, she will be spayed and freshly groomed so she’s all ready for her next chapter!

🐾 Adoption fee: $200

Piper has already been through a big change, so we would love to find her a wonderful home where she can settle in and be loved for years to come.

🐾 Feral Fixing Day was a SUCCESS! 🐾

49 cats. Less than 3 hours. One incredible team. 💪🐱

Today we were able to spay and/or neuter 49 community cats, get them vaccinated, apply prevention, and even fix an eye (or two!) along the way. 💙

Days like today take a village, and we could not have done it without our amazing staff and volunteers who gave their time, worked hard, and kept everything moving smoothly from start to finish.

That’s 49 cats who received much-needed veterinary care and 49 more steps toward healthier community cat populations. 🐾

A HUGE shout out to Friends of Ferals and the Flyingpigssanctuary for helping us put this event on and for trapping and transporting the cats!

We also want to thank everyone who helped make today possible, we appreciate you more than you know! 💙

Today we get to celebrate a pretty special milestone for one of our very own. Help Allison celebrate 30 years at South Rhea! ❤️🐾

Over those 30 years, she’s worn a lot of hats around here. She started in the kennel, worked her way into being a veterinary assistant, and eventually found her niche in inventory and keeping all of our equipment and machines up and running.

Now, as our Inventory Manager, she’s the person behind the scenes making sure we have what we need, keeping track of more things than the rest of us probably even realize, and troubleshooting the equipment when something inevitably decides not to cooperate!

A lot has changed around here in 30 years, but she has been a constant through all of it. We’re so thankful for the time, hard work, knowledge, and care she has given this clinic over the years.

30 years is definitely something worth celebrating! Help us show her some love and congratulate her on this huge milestone! ❤️🎉

🦎 Happy World Lizard Day! 🦎

Today we’re celebrating some of the coolest (and most misunderstood!) members of the animal kingdom. From tiny geckos to impressive iguanas and bearded dragons, lizards come in thousands of species with some pretty amazing adaptations.

If you have a scaly friend at home, give them a little extra love today—and drop a picture in the comments! We’d love to see our reptile friends. 💚

🎉🐾 Fun Fact Friday + Birthday Edition! 🐾🎉

Today’s spotlight is on Dr. Davis and it’s an extra special day because it’s her birthday! 🥳🎂

Here are a few fun facts about Dr. Davis:
🐶🐱 She enjoys caring for both small and large animals and also sees small ruminants, like goats and sheep, right here at South Rhea! 🐐🐑
🎬 She’s a big fan of scary and horror movies.
🎭 She loves Broadway musicals.
🧡 And when football season rolls around, you’ll find her cheering on the Tennessee Vols! 🍊🏈

We’re so thankful to have Dr. Davis as part of the South Rhea family and appreciate the compassionate care she provides to every patient, whether they have paws, hooves, or wool!
