Hi, wonderful sponsors! 🌙🐾💙
I’m so excited to introduce myself—I’m Cordelia, your new sponsored dog!
I’m a four-month-old Golden Lab–Newfoundland mix from the Once In a Blue Moon Litter. I’m named after one of Uranus’s moons, and I’ve been spending the past month or so settling in with my volunteer trainer, learning my new routine, and starting to go on little adventures.
My volunteer says I have already impressed them with my maturity. Even though I’m still a young puppy, I do a fantastic job at work! I can settle at their feet for up to eight hours, either sleeping peacefully or chewing on a toy while they are busy. That is a long time for a puppy, but I’m happy being close to my person.
I’m also working on my greeting manners. About 80% of the time, I greet people politely, though I may have an occasional jump or teething moment when I get extra excited. Luckily, chewing on a bone helps me make a better choice, and my volunteer has been helping me focus more on them and tasty treats instead of getting overly excited about all the people who want to pet me. I’m already doing even better as the month goes on!
I love being with my people and like to stick close by. I’m usually very good at settling on my own, but if I ever need help relaxing, my Easy Walk harness and leash help remind me that it is time to rest. Before long, I’m asleep at my volunteer’s feet.
I’m also beginning to understand the difference between vest time and playtime. When my vest is on, I do a great job staying calm and focused in public. When it comes off, I know I can be a playful puppy again!
My volunteer says they love this little—well, soon-to-be-big—girl already, and I cannot wait to share more of my journey with you as I grow, learn, and work toward becoming the best future service dog I can be.
With moonlit dreams and giant puppy cuddles,
Cordelia 🐶✨💙
