Many of you who follow Country Sundance Poodles know just how much our dogs mean to us. They aren’t “just dogs”—they become part of our families. ❤️🐾

Today, I’m reaching out to our dog-loving community for help for my son and his sweet dog.

She was hit by a vehicle, and we’ve now learned that her injuries are much more serious than we initially knew. She has a broken pelvis and a broken femur, along with significant wounds to her other leg. Thankfully, she has been stabilized and at this time there is no internal bleeding.

The surgery and care she needs could cost upwards of $12,000.

That number is incredibly overwhelming, but her veterinarian gave us something we desperately needed—hope. She told us that with surgery, she has seen dogs with injuries like hers recover and go on to live happy, fulfilling lives. She believes this sweet girl has a chance, and we want so badly to give her that chance.

WSU is consulting with other veterinarians and trying to find a surgeon who may be able to perform the surgery for less. We don’t have the final cost yet, but we do know that even the lower estimates will be far more than most young people could ever be prepared for unexpectedly.

My son is a young man just starting out in life. He has already put his own money toward her care and will continue doing everything he can. Asking for help isn’t easy, but sometimes life puts something in front of you that is simply bigger than what you can handle alone.

So I’m asking, respectfully, if you are able and feel led to help, even a small donation toward her veterinary care would mean more to him and to our family than I can put into words. No amount is too small. When enough people give a little, it can become something life-changing.

If donating isn’t something you can do, we completely understand. A prayer and a share are just as appreciated. Sharing her story may be what helps us reach the person or resource that can help get her the surgery she needs.

Our family has been through a lot, and having this happen now feels especially heartbreaking. But we’re trying to hold onto what the veterinarian told us: with surgery, she can still have the chance to heal, come home to my son, and live a happy and fulfilling life.

That’s all we’re trying to give her—a chance. ❤️‍🩹

Breeder life… because apparently the dogs don’t check my calendar. 😂🤦‍♀️

We are smack dab in the middle of a VERY busy fair week, running in a hundred different directions, and I was completely confident I had a few more days before I needed to worry about these two.

I did not. 😂

Hank and Rose are currently tied as I type this, looking quite pleased with themselves, while I’m standing here realizing my carefully calculated timeline was apparently more of a suggestion.

This was NOT a planned litter for this timing. We had planned for her to have one more litter in the future, which would be her FINAL LITTER… apparently she and Mother Nature decided “in the future” meant RIGHT NOW. 🤣🐾

These two have always been very successful together, so I’m going to assume there’s a pretty good chance they just added “puppy litter” to my already busy schedule.

You can plan. You can calculate. You can separate. And then sometimes Mother Nature says, “That’s cute. Watch this.” 😂

So… SURPRISE! We may have some unexpected Country Sundance Poodles babies on the way! ❤️🐩

If this breeding takes as expected, this will be her FINAL LITTER—just a little sooner than we had planned.

Some before-and-afters of sweet Stetson! 🤎 From all that puppy fluff to this full-body haircut—he cleans up pretty well!

So many people missed out on this little guy. Stetson is truly one of the sweetest, easiest puppies I’ve had in a long time. To say he is easygoing is an understatement. He’s also incredibly smart—he already knows how to sit and shake, and he doesn’t fuss one bit about grooming. He simply takes everything in stride.

Stetson has found his family, but they are currently away on a trip, so he’s staying with us a little longer until they can take him home. They are so excited to meet him, and when they asked if I minded keeping him longer, my answer was an easy, “Absolutely not.” He is an absolute gem, and we are more than happy to enjoy the extra time with him.

I follow many breeders who charge additional boarding fees when puppies need to stay beyond their normal go-home date, and I completely understand that every breeder runs their program differently. For me personally, I feel that we brought these puppies into the world, and I don’t mind keeping them a little longer and I don’t charge to do so when needed to make sure they get to the right family. As a breeder, I believe you have to be prepared for the possibility that some puppies may remain with you beyond 8–10 weeks. Finding the right home is more important to me than rushing the process.

And one of my favorite little details? His family has decided to keep his name. 🤎 Stetson is already pretty fond of it, so that makes his story just a little bit sweeter.

We sure are going to miss this special boy when he leaves, but I couldn’t be happier for him and his new family.

I’ve been receiving so many feel-good updates last week and this week from families with pups from our last litter, and they make me so proud. 🥹❤️

Hearing how loved they are, how well they’re doing, and seeing them become such special parts of their families is truly the best part of raising these puppies. It makes all the work, love, and sleepless nights worth it.

My heart is full. I’m so proud of these pups and so thankful for the wonderful families who love them. 🐩💕

Update from McGraw, who is now named George. He went to the beach with his family and looks like he couldn’t be happier! I love it when my pups go to active homes and get to enjoy the good life.

Then there was only one. Stetson is still looking for his forever home but my daughter is very happy to have every extra minute with him. He’s a charmer with his green eyes and he’s her favorite. ❤️ 🐩
