The UCD Hunter jumper club is working hard to prepare for their first show of the season. The girls have been let down by the university ( the school is currently being sued for Title IX violations) but Pine Trails Ranch is trying to support them and we would encourage our equestrian community to also show their support. If you happen to be close to Stanford this weekend, come cheer these riders on!

The students did an amazing job at the show today. And they showed off their creative skills in the costume contest. I hope some students got more photos and will share in comments. I was running around and didn't get many good shots. Its been super hectic with 2 shows back to back and next week the UCD hunter jumper club is competing at Stanford. I am doing my best to keep the schedule up, but please send another email if I don't respond to a request in a couple of days. And please remember you must cancel or reschedule lessons At Least 24 to 36 hours ahead. And it would be great if you can do farther ahead than that. I am sorry but I can not make exceptions. We all play by the same rules. Thank you.

We have our Pine Trails Ranch schooling show November 15. It's a great way to try out a horse show. Hope to see you there!

Just got home exhausted from a 4 day horse show with a great group of students who worked hard and all of them showed so much improvement! Then this was waiting for me from a sweet young student who just takes lessons. And yet she knew I have diet restrictions. I am so blessed with a wonderful barn community! Thank you students. You have no idea how this revives a tired ol lady..

Horseback riding is a unique sport with some amazing lessons to teach. You go to a show and the first day you may fall off and then you get back up. Go again, and the next day and win a ribbon. Its resilience at its most pure form. Good job my dear! And thank you Brit for getting us through!

We are at Brookside for the first rated show we have attended in years. Horse show costs have gotten pretty hard to afford so we try to do smaller local shows. But the students are doing great and I am so proud of them! Come visit if you get the chance. And please remember to give your horses plenty of salt. The temps are about to drop over 25 degrees and we need them all to drink lots of water!

Its beginning to sound a lot like Christmas. Lol. But this is about Halloween. Its fun to dress up your horse for Halloween, but be sure you let your horse get used to any strange sounds or parts of a costume ahead of time. Not all ponies like sleigh bells, but Skittles is not bothered by them.
