Helo’s family stopped by just to say thank you after saying goodbye to him at 19½ years old. I honestly don’t have the words to describe how much that meant to me.

I’ve been grooming Helo since 2011, back when I was a mobile groomer. When I opened my salon five years ago, his family continued driving an hour each way just so I could keep caring for him. That kind of trust is something I will never take for granted.

As groomers, we don’t just give haircuts. We watch puppies grow into seniors. We celebrate happy moments, adapt to aging bodies, and love them through every stage of life. Before you know it, they’re part of your own story too.

Helo, thank you for letting me be a small part of your incredible 19½ years. It breaks my heart that you’re gone, but my heart is full knowing you were deeply loved every single day of your life. That is the greatest gift any dog could have.

To Kim and Joe, thank you for trusting me with your precious boy all these years. Your kind words and this beautiful card will stay with me forever.

Moments like this remind me exactly why I do what I do. Every early morning, every long day, every challenge… it’s always worth it. 🤍🐾
