One of the most misunderstood concepts of this industry:
We are training you, not your dog. But “human training” doesn’t market itself very well. Complications arise when families are not on the same page. Dog training is a team effort (family effort). There is no ‘i’ in team. Especially important for families attempting to train their own service dog for an incapable family member!!! 👀 👀 👀
Your dog trainer isn’t there to “fix” your dog while you watch — they’re there to coach you on how to communicate, guide, and lead your dog effectively.
Training is a team effort. If you choose not to follow through, practice at home, or take the trainer’s advice seriously, that’s your decision — but the results will reflect that.
Consistency, patience, and participation are what make the difference. The trainer can give you the tools, but it’s up to you to use them.
Your dog is learning every day — the question is: what are you teaching them?
