I'd just like to recognize and thank our extremely generous sponsors of the Simply The Best fundraiser last night to benefit Compassionate Care ALS in honor of our dear friend, Dr. Nick Dagenais. We couldn't have done what we did without their kindness, compassion, and generosity.

I'm still in awe of how both our business and individual friends/partners, as well as all of the attendees stepped up and came out in support of CCALS and Nick. ALS is horrific disease that not only affects the patient afflicted with this insidious disease, but also affects the caregivers and families of ALS sufferers. Your support, sponsorships, donations, auction purchases, merchandise purchases, and attendance to these events helps to support families with specific needs that otherwise may be unattainable for many. We will be closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day. We hope everyone has a ejoyable day as they celebrate and honor those who have given their lives in service to our country. We will be open on Tuesday at 8 am.

Dear Clients and friends,
Tuesday evening our beloved Dr. Nick lost his battle with ALS.
He passed quietly, surrounded by family and close friends.
We ask our clients to respect our staff in this time of grieving.
Dr. Bridgett O'Donnell has accepted Nick's invitation to join the practice as partner to
carry on his legacy of exceptional pet care. Bridgett will be stepping into the role of
Medical Director to assure the Dagenais Veterinary Clinic continues to provide
exceptional care and service to our patients and clients.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we all mourn the loss of our beloved
Dr. Nick and strive to carry on in his honor. We ask that everyone be extra gentle with
the staff when asking about Dr. Nick’s passing, as this is a difficult time for all of us.

The Clinic will be closing at 4:00 pm today, Friday, April 24th for an employee education session. We will re-open Saturday, April 25th at 8:00 am, as usual.

We hope all our friends will support Compassionate Care ALS. They've been a Godsend for Dr. Nick, and we wanted to give back to them so they can continue their mission of helping families dealing with this horrible disease. They are committed to providing support, no red tape, no lengthy approval process; just providing what they can to help. We hope to see all our friends at the event.

Several people have contacted us regarding fundraising for Dr. Nick and his fight with ALS. To clear things up:

Nick and I will be hosting a fundraiser to benefit Community Cares ALS (CCLAS) the organization that has given us so much support and continues to provide support for us and so many ALS families, with resources, equipment, networking and guidance. We are working with Century House and looking at a date of Thursday, May 28, 6:30 - 9:30. It will be a cocktail event. More info will be following very shortly. We and CCALS will set up a website for people wanting to buy tickets, donate or sponsor.

Gail Alves, a client and friend, is doing a raffle. This has nothing to do with Dagenais Veterinary Clinic, or Nick and I. It is Gail's way of supporting Dr. Nick. Tickets are available at the clinic, or through Gail. There is info at the clinic, but clinic staff don't have a lot of detail as we are not the sponsors.
