🚨PRICE INCREASE🚨

After 5 years of pricing myself low for house sittings (overnights), the time has finally come for a substantial price increase. This price increase WILL NOT affect anyone who has already booked or paid a deposit for an upcoming house sitting. You will be grandfathered in.

Cat house sittings will remain substantially lower as long as I’m able to be away from your home longer during the day.

This price increase applies to house sittings that are booked after today and for the foreseeable future. It applies ONLY to services requiring overnight care.

✨Rates for drop in visits, dog walks, farm care, and house sittings requiring farm care (in addition to dog or cat care) will remain the same…rates for farm visits and farm house sittings are still personalized depending on workload✨

I have almost 200 5-star reviews, carry and pay for private insurance and certifications, and am a full-time sitter with a wealth of experience with many different types of animals. I also have a bachelor of science degree in biology with a specialization in ecology. This, in addition to the consistent business I have year to year, sets me above most sitters starting out with lower rates.

Other reasons for this price increase include:

⚫️ Rising price of gas
⚫️ The unlimited drop ins/potty breaks I provide for my house sitting clients and the gas used to ensure I’m available for your pups even on the busiest of days…my mileage explodes when I’m providing house sittings due to the constant back and forth travel
⚫️The flexibility I have with departure times on the last day. Most sitters leave early in the morning and charge lots of money to leave later in the day. I’ve always been very flexible, but this requires more driving back and forth
⚫️ Rising price of groceries
⚫️ Increased compensation for increasing volume of business and experience

I understand many folks, even repeat clients, may not be able to afford these rates. Unfortunately, I can no longer survive on a lower rate. The time for a price increase is long overdue.

Thank you for keeping me so busy! 🐾

Hi, everyone!

In light of a fellow pet and farm care provider transitioning from in home services to boarding and daycare, I am being FLOODED with new furry faces. I am doing all I can to fit everyone in but I cannot burn myself out. When I say flooded, I mean I’m absolutely SWAMPED with new business.

Here are a few things you guys can do for me to make this change in routine easier:

1) FLEXIBILITY
— If your fur baby is in my schedule, they are scheduled. I will try my best to stay consistent with my service times but please understand that you’re not the only client in my books. I’m in and out of countless homes in a single day and everyone needs care. Pets on time sensitive medication are FIRST priority. No exceptions.

2) KNOW YOUR DATES
— I am more than happy to do meet and greets for folks that don’t have dates but I cannot guarantee you a spot until I have dates for your service. Imagine being a receptionist and scheduling folks at a doctor’s office without dates and times. It’s impossible! Due to a high late cancellation rate, I refuse to hold dates for house sittings without a deposit if you’re a private client (all other services are flexible and don’t require deposits). When you cancel, I lose business and other clients lose a provider. If you need to cancel, PLEASE let me know ASAP.

3) BE NICE
— The fastest way for folks to be permanently removed from my client list is when they get nasty, especially when it comes to my farm animals being fed. I let folks know ahead of time if I’ll be busier than usual. If your pet cannot make it through my full time schedule, please seek alternative coverage. Being rude is not going to get you booked faster. There are many other pet care providers you can choose from if you feel I’ll be away too long throughout the day. Pick the provider that is best for your needs! It doesn’t have to be me! If I know I’ll be a bad fit, I will turn you away in the best interest of your pet(s). This is nothing personal against you as a client.

In addition to the overwhelming amount of new business I’m dealing with, I’m still finishing up our goat show season, breeding a very small number of goats and planning our kidding season, and dealing with my dad’s ongoing health issues and surgeries. Please be mindful that I may not be available at the last minute. Please send those dates my way regardless and I’ll confirm my availability!

——

Also, I am still booking house sittings (overnights) but, if I continue to be booked regularly with long days filled with shorter visits, I may no longer be the best candidate for overnights. As I’ve mentioned, I cannot make miracles happen. If I’m going to be away too long during the day, I cannot change that. It is your responsibility to know what your pet can handle and to book with a provider than can best accommodate their routine.

——

Many folks have asked for referrals but I don’t have many now that my main referral is celebrating her new business venture. I will try my best to compile a list of insured professionals that can take over for me if I’m not available! Please understand though…there aren’t many of us around. I will do my best!

Thank you all so much ❤️

Just a reminder!

I will not be available for any services tomorrow. My dad is getting surgery in Pittsburgh.

I am also still blocking this entire weekend. My dad may or may not be in pain so I didn’t want to strap myself down with bookings. It is unlikely I’ll be able to go to a goat show on Saturday but I didn’t want to have the opportunity taken from me. If I can’t go to that show for one day, I would like to have some free time at home.

Thank you all for understanding!

Introducing, our very first permanent grand champion on the farm!

✨PGCH B&B Pygmies Monte✨

I raised him up from about 6 or 7 months old and he finished out at 4 years old this past weekend! Off to Master Champion classes!

Talk about showing up at just the right time!!

One of my clients in Chippewa had a late start so her pup didn’t need a potty break just yet. This happens sometimes so I just go to my client in Ellwood instead and swing back her way right after. Due to the schedule change, I came to Ellwood earlier than I would’ve today.

This poor chipmunk was fighting to stay afloat in their pool and it wouldn’t have made it much longer. Once I put the dogs in and knew what was going on, I immediately fought to get him out. Thankfully I didn’t have to go in 😅

I’m hoping it makes it! It is away from the pups and warming up in the sun. Never tried to bite me at all. Poor thing was exhausted! 💔

I am blocking additional services for today through all of Sunday. My dad has been to the ER three times in the last week. He is back there today. My schedule is so packed that I can’t pick him up and I’m now balancing a house sitting, scheduled services, my farm care at home, and off and on care for his dog. I cannot physically and emotionally handle anything else.

If you’re scheduled, you’re scheduled. I’m not cancelling on anyone!

I’m sorry for any inconvenience.

You know you’re a farm sitter if your center console is full of eggs 😂Best tips ever!

Hi, everyone!

I know folks are eager to book their vacations for next year but I cannot book services during the spring through fall just yet because I’m waiting for our goat show schedule to come out. Typically, this happens around November. If I have show dates by an earlier date, I’ll be sure to let folks know!

I work every single day and these shows are my only time away all year and they’re also very important for the long term development of my herd of registered pygmy goats. Please be patient and allow me to make sure I’m available before I promise folks dates.

⬇️⬇️⬇️

Also, I will be planning breedings on our farm very soon. Like previous years, I cannot accept house sittings (overnights) from February through April (possibly May).

✨Drop in visits, extended drop in visits, dog walks, and farm care are still booked as normal while the goats have their babies. I’m just waiting on the 2027 show schedule✨

I CANNOT do house sittings (overnights) during these months but I will have a more concrete idea of my exact availability once I have 1) confirmed pregnancies and 2) have exact due dates. I know this may seem inconvenient but the safety of my girls is top priority. I cannot place myself in a situation where I’m away from home all night if one of them gives birth and runs into life threatening complications. It has happened to me this year even with me being right there in the barn at the start of labor so it can easily happen if I’m away from home. I will not be taking risks.

There are at least three girls that could be bred for winter kiddings (would’ve been 4 but I’m giving my one other gal time to go to shows since she missed an entire year last year). IF I end up with some goats delivering in winter and some not delivering until mid-spring again, I will likely open up overnights to LOW MAINTENANCE households for a few weeks here and there (your pups MUST be able to be okay being left alone for a few hours at a time and you MUST be local to Darlington, PA).

I know this is a lot to read! Folks are reaching out about dates earlier than usual and I felt I needed address it. I know this seems daunting for the folks that are new but this is completely normal each and every year! I appreciate all of the business but there are lots of qualified pet care providers that can help you and your fur babies if I’m not available 😁

Please be patient while I

1) wait for the 2027 show schedule
and
2) plan out my breeding season.

Thank you ❤️

This is the season when folks beg me to walk their heat sensitive dogs in extreme heat and then get mad when I turn them away. Hasn’t happened yet this year but I’m sure it will soon!

When your dog walker says it’s too hot for your dog, it’s too hot for your dog! 🥵

I will happily substitute drop in visits for walks when needed!
