Welcome to The Howlin’ Crew, Baxter! 🐾

Baxter is a good listener and a smart boy because he knows that when he listens, there’s usually a treat waiting for him! 😉 He especially enjoys his walks down to the bay, and he LOVES when his pet sitter throws his ball for him. Baxter is one happy boy, and we’re so happy to have him as part of our crew! ❤️

Is your dog a happy dog at home? 🏡

Keep them home, happy, and cared for while you’re away with The Howlin’ Pooch, because your pup deserves to have fun, get plenty of love, and stay comfortable in their own home. 💙

Welcome to the Howlin’ Crew, Mid Knight! 🐾🖤

Mid Knight needed a few extra meets with me to make sure I was the right pet sitter for him…and at The Howlin Pooch, we don’t mind one bit! We take pride in giving our more anxious pets the time, patience, and space they need to feel comfortable in their own home. 🏡🐶 It didn’t take long for Mid Knight to show me his favorites: butt scratches and those perfect behind the ear scratches! 🥰

Whether your pet is outgoing and ready to make a new best friend or a little shy and anxious about meeting new people, we’re ready to earn their love and trust one visit, one treat, and one scratch at a time. ❤️🐾 Your pet’s comfort comes first, and we’re here to make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away!

📣 WEDNESDAY WISDOM FROM ACO JESS! 📣

🐾 A Friendly Reminder from Daphne Animal Control: Dogs Cannot Run at Large 🐾

As Animal Control, our goal is to help keep both the citizens and animals of Daphne safe. One of the simplest ways pet owners can help us accomplish that is by making sure their dogs are properly restrained and not allowed to run at large.

Even the friendliest dog can create an unsafe situation when loose. A dog running at large may:

🐕 Approach a person or child who is afraid of dogs
🐕 Encounter another dog and cause a fight or injury
🐕 Run into traffic and be struck by a vehicle
🐕 Chase pedestrians, bicyclists, wildlife, or other pets
🐕 Wander onto someone else’s property
🐕 Become lost, injured, or unable to find its way home

“My dog is friendly” does not mean your dog should be allowed to roam freely. Other people and animals don’t know your dog’s intentions, and even a normally friendly dog can react unpredictably when frightened, excited, or approached by another animal.

Daphne’s animal control ordinances are in place for a reason- to protect our community AND our pets. Dog owners are responsible for keeping their animals properly confined or under appropriate control and preventing them from roaming at large.

Please check your fences and gates regularly, use a leash when appropriate, and never intentionally allow your dog to wander the neighborhood.

Responsible pet ownership helps prevent accidents, injuries, lost pets, and unnecessary conflicts between neighbors.

🐾 Love them. Protect them. Restrain them.
Keeping your dog safely under your control isn’t just being a good neighbor- it’s being a responsible pet owner.

Thank you for helping us keep Daphne safe for people and pets alike!

Welcome to The Howlin’ Crew Maui & Coco! 🐾

These boys are just too sweet & so playful. It’s a blast getting to play with them as they would play all day! But…don’t let all that energy fool you. When bedtime rolls around, these two transform into the biggest cuddle bugs and are more than happy to curl up for a cozy night’s sleep. ❤️🐶

Then morning comes… and let’s just say they made absolutely sure I didn’t forget their chicken jerky breakfast appetizer. 😂🍗 Apparently, there’s no snooze button when treats are involved!

I’m so excited to have Maui & Coco as part of The Howlin’ Crew, and I can’t wait for all the adventures we’ll have together, Thank you for entrusting us in your pets care! 🐾💕

Happy July! 🎆
While we’re celebrating Independence Day with fireworks, cookouts, and family, our pets may be having a very different experience. 🇺🇸🐾

For many dogs (and even cats), fireworks can be incredibly stressful. A little preparation can make a huge difference in helping your furry family member feel safe.

Here are a few things we recommend:
🎆Talk to your veterinarian ahead of time.
If your pet struggles with fireworks every year, don’t wait until July 4th to ask about anxiety medication. Refills can take time, and most medications need to be given well before the fireworks begin in order to work effectively.

🏠 Create a safe space before the festivities start.
Set up a quiet area with their favorite bed, blankets, toys, or even a crate if that’s where they feel most secure. Let them spend time there before the loud noises begin so it already feels like their “safe place.”

📺 Turn on the TV or some calming background noise.
A little extra noise can help drown out fireworks. My own pups spend Independence Day watching DogTV, and it seems to help them relax!

🚶 Plan potty breaks early.
Try to walk your dog or let them out before fireworks start. Always keep pets on a leash—even in fenced yards if they’re prone to panic. Every year, shelters see an increase in lost pets because frightened animals can escape surprisingly fast.

🤍 Most importantly… be patient.
Your pet doesn’t understand why the sky suddenly started exploding every few seconds. Offer plenty of reassurance, treats, cuddles (if they want them), and let them know they’re safe. Staying calm yourself can also help them feel more secure.

🇺🇸❤️ Wishing everyone a fun, safe holiday and hoping all of our four-legged friends make it through the fireworks with plenty of treats and tail wags! 🐶🐱

Just another day at The Howlin’ Pooch where rain, shine, or swarms of bloodthirsty mosquitoes, your pups are still getting the exercise and care they deserve. 💚🐶

✅ Lathered up with peppermint soap.
✅ Applied Avon’s Skin So Soft.
✅ Finished it off with DEET-free bug gel.
✅ Spent the entire walk aggressively clapping mosquitoes out of existence. 👏😂

To the South Alabama community: don’t worry… I’ve personally eliminated at least a million mosquitoes this week by volunteering as their favorite snack that’s allergic to DEET. You’re welcome. 🫡

You can book your free 30 minute meet & greet or your next set of visits here: https://pocketsuite.io/book/the-howlin-pooch or 251-655-1485 is our number you can easily reach us by text but we may be too busy speed-slapping the air of mosquitos to answer your call, leave us a voicemail and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible! 🦟🐾

Welcome to the Howlin’ crew, Jazz! 🐾

This sweet girl is energetic and sooo outgoing, and we can’t wait to watch her grow. 🥰 It’s always my favorite when your pups want to play ball, tug, chase toys, or whatever else they love to do. Building those relationships and learning each pet’s unique personality is one of the best parts of my job!
Whether your pet is a playful puppy, a senior who prefers cuddles, or somewhere in between, I love getting to provide care that fits their individual needs and routines.

As summer calendars start filling up, don’t forget that you can easily request your pet sitting dates directly through the PocketSuite app anytime! Booking early is always recommended, especially if you’re planning vacations or weekend getaways. ☀️🐶

Thank you for trusting The Howlin’ Pooch with your furry family members! ❤️
