Cedar has been a dedicated student of the horse for over 20 years, and though she has a well rounded base of experience, her main focus has been in the art of dressage. She studied for 15 years under master horseman, JP Giacomini, who was a student of Mestre Nuno Oliveira. The work she does with horses develops healthy biomechanics, relaxation and mental well-being to start horses from the beginni
ng, and to advance them to upper level movements such as piaffe, passage and flying changes. In conjunction with this, she helps people learn how their own biomechanics can help bring out the best in their equine partners. She teaches in a way that gives both horses and humans the building blocks of understanding so they can be set up for success at each new step. No matter the saddle or discipline, the main focus is correct, progressive training that translates into horses being prepared for the questions we ask. Cedar has been a clinician at the SEE, competed in RRP TB Makeovers, won the ILHA Festival FS in 2019 and has done performances of upper level dressage while riding bridleless. In 2018 she started to compete at rated dressage shows and made it to USDF Dressage Finals three consecutive years at the Grand Prix level. She has earned her USDF gold medal and gold freestyle bar. She also competes in western dressage at 5th Level, the highest level currently offered. Competition is not the main objective, but she enjoys the goals and milestones competing offers. Cedar is available for lessons, training sessions, clinics and consultations.
