Meet Greta!

This sweet girl came to us severely malnourished(we know you’d never guess that now haha), with bad skin infections, and Heartworm positive.

Greta is estimated to be 6-7 years old and literally the best girl! She loves all other animals and people she meets, walks great on a leash, and loves to ride in the car! She is still working on house training but she is very treat motivated.

Greta has finished her Heartworm treatment and is ready to find her forever home! She will be spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, current on flea and tick + heartworm prevention, and have a negative f***l prior to adoption!

Meet Wilma!

This precious girl made her way to us at 6 years old after being surrendered to the shelter by her owners who weren’t able to care for her. She came to us with untreated chronic dry eye that has led to severe vision loss, arthritis in her back legs, and a skin infection likely related to fleas.

We have started her on daily eye drops that help significantly with the irritation and will be need to used for the duration of her life(they will not recover her sight, just help her comfort!). She has had medicated baths and antibiotics and her skin is recovering well!

Wilma is the most precious girl! She likes to use people and other dogs as her tour guides until she’s comfortable with new areas! We will only consider more slower paced homes with children over 12 years old due to her vision loss to avoid startling her. She will also require a fenced yard to give her opportunity to explore which she loves and would prefer as little stairs as possible. Wilma has so much love to give despite everything she’s been through and still gets zoomies like a puppy!

Wilma will be spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, current on flea and tick prevention, heartworm negative and on prevention, and have a negative f***l prior to adoption.

April is Heartworm awareness month and anyone who is familiar with rescue knows it’s a never ending battle! We cannot stress enough the importance of Heartworm preventions!! There are so many options for dogs of all sizes and all price ranges.

These two sweet girls in addition to being abandoned by their owners were also failed on the Heartworm prevention front. Greta and Sierra both came to us testing positive for Heartworms and are currently undergoing treatment.

In addition to how hard this is on the dogs physically, it is also incredibly costly. We try our best not to ask for financial help but we could really use some help!!
