We got this fawn in a couple days ago. Not sure what happened but he has injuries all over his face. 2 puncture wounds on top of his head and right eye is injured.
Vet summary:
It was $170 to get meds
They say it could cost up to $1000 possibly more to remove his eye if it doesn’t heal properly.

If you can help in anyway we would greatly appreciate it.

❤️‍🔥 $5 Friday ❤️‍🔥

Every Friday, we ask our amazing supporters to consider donating just $5 to help us continue caring for the wildlife that depends on us.

It may not seem like much, but when several people give $5, it adds up quickly and helps provide:
🍼 Formula for growing wildlife
🌡️ Heating supplies to keep orphaned babies warm
🧻 Puppy pads and cleaning supplies to help keep everything clean and sanitary
💧 Pedialyte and hydration support for sick or injured wildlife
🩺 Medical supplies and rehabilitation necessities
🛝 Enrichment Toys
🎣 Food- Fish, dog/cat food, etc
🛖 Crates, Housing

Right now, wildlife season is in full swing, and our tiny patients require around-the-clock care. Many of these babies need feedings every few hours, specialized housing, and constant monitoring until they are strong enough to return to the wild.

If just a handful of people donate the cost of a coffee today, it can make a huge difference for the animals currently in our care.

To donate, please see the links on our page. If you're unable to donate, sharing this post helps us reach others who may be able to help.

From Miracle’s Wildlife Rehab and the wildlife we care for, thank you for your continued support. Every dollar helps give these animals a second chance at life.

Every little bit counts, and we appreciate your love and support for our mission! 🦊

You can also donate directly to our wildlife rescue [Venmo, Cash App and Amazon Wishlist Links below].

Thank you for being part of our journey to help and heal wildlife in our community!

She left him/her lying alone in the open grass — and it was the most protective thing she could do.

A doe doesn't keep her newborn fawn at her side. In his/her earliest days, she keeps her distance on purpose.

The reason is brutal and beautiful. She is large, warm, and full of scent — exactly what a coyote or a loose dog follows. He/She is born almost odorless, his/her spotted coat scattering him/her into the dapple of leaves and grass. So the safest place for him/her is wherever she is not.

She returns only at the quiet edges of the day — dawn and dusk — and only for minutes: long enough to nurse him/her and to lick him/her clean so that not even his/her scent gives him/her away. Then she leaves again, drawing every danger away from the spot where he/she lies.

And he/she holds up his/her end. When something approaches, he/she doesn't run — he/she can't yet. He/She presses flat, tucks his head, lets his l/her own heartbeat fall, and vanishes into the grass while the world walks past.

This is why a fawn curled alone in the yard is almost never an orphan. He is exactly where his/her mother meant to leave him/her, doing exactly what she needs him/her to do. She is closer than you think, waiting for the yard to empty so she can come back.

🦌 If you find one
- Leave him/her where he/she lies — don't move him/her, feed him/her, or wait beside him/her
- Keep dogs and children well away so the doe will return
- Touching him/her won't make her abandon him/her — but a person standing nearby will keep her away
- Still no sign of her after a full day? Then call a licensed wildlife rehabilitator

He/She looks abandoned because he/she is supposed to. The empty grass around him/her is the whole plan.

UPDATE: Due to all the Ticks she ended up passing away. To many had already dug into her and we didn’t get her/him in time to help her properly. This is why you contact a licensed rehabber ASAP!!

Got this baby fawn in yesterday. A conservation officer brought it but didn’t know its story. The baby’s ears were covered in ticks, has a head tilt, and still has umbilical cord. Got all the ticks we found off, got it warmed up and started rehydration fluids. This baby needs prayers and if anyone wants to donate to its care it’s greatly appreciated!!
