Life is always on the move and your dog’s training should be too!

We are turning the page and beginning a new chapter with our own dogs and that means their training will adjust and change accordingly to life.
It’s time to prep these pups for a new baby.

Now even though Lola and Tumbles have gone thru this process once before, it’s been almost 9 years. They will learn along with Sissy and Tommy all about a new baby. This means new smells, noises, human behaviors, and more. The schedule gets crazy, they may get less attention for a bit, and dinner may occasionally come late BUT these are all things we can help them adjust too before baby even arrives.

For my dogs, this meant that everyone now sleeps in the living room rather than our bedroom where baby will sleep. At night, a gate goes up to and their dog beds come out so that it’s clear where I want them to sleep. We have also built and introduced them to all the new baby gear and encouraged them to keep their distance. It is not meant for them, especially once a baby is using it. This will help keep baby safe.

The goal for our family is that the dogs learn boundaries that keep the new baby safe. This also helps ensure that the dogs do not become isolated from family routines and activities due to their behavior. We are one big family after all!

Temporary Closure Update!

As you know, we will be shutting down for the arrival of Baby Boy Jude during October and November tentatively. You guys have been so amazing and supportive as we navigate the last few weeks of September. I have had to ease up on dog training lessons due to doctor’s appointments and my ability to simply keep up!

With that being said, during our closure I will continue to take calls and schedule for boarding as well as training for when we open.

I also want to ensure new and existing clients are aware that I will offer phone consultations/training guidance in lieu of lessons during our closure. We will also be posting and providing information centered around bringing dogs and babies together safely.

So while we will be much quieter for a bit, we are still here to help! Don’t hesitate to call.

Happy go lucky Geist is still waiting for his forever! He is doing fantastic and is living his best puppy life but I know he is ready for his own people.

He is a super sweet boy and LOVES other dogs. He can handle a correction without any hard feelings whatsoever, because let’s face it, sometimes overexcited puppies need some guidance from other dogs.

He is potty trained and crate trained. He walks well on the leash and is slowly but surely learning to keeps his paws on the ground when excited. He LOVES food just as much as other dogs and is extremely food motivated.

And as for his future family, he is a go getter and would love an adventurous life. He can absolutely settle down but I think he would be up for any journey you might take him on!

Now Charlie isn’t out to actually bite but he sure does put on a good show. Anytime he seen Elijah, you might think he was gonna eat him. After taking the time to build trust around kids and redirect any outbursts, he is coming around to the idea of “not” acting like a turd around kids.
