I am a results oriented dog trainer and work any tools and techniques that get those results. About me:

Hello everyone!

This is the official fan page of The Happy k-9 Training & Rehabilitation.I have daily updates, photos and videos of my board and train and my 1 on 1 in home sessions. With so many families struggling with even the basics of dog obedience, this page is a breath of fresh air that shows the results and the training of real world dog training. So many families have gone to 6-12 even 18 weeks of dog training and still not even gotten the basics down. It is not supposed to be like that and I offer folks an alternative. My name is Nelson Mendoza and I am Obedience dog trainer, i train dog owners and rehabilitate/ educate dogs. I also deal with owners that struggle with dog and or human aggressive dogs. I would like to welcome anyone and everyone to my page. We will update pictures and videos weekly when dealing with clients and will update daily with FREE training tips and advice. Feel free to ask any questions you have on training, exercises, tools, bonding tips, anything that comes to mind. Welcome and looking forward to change owners and dogs lives! The way your dog is today does not have to be the way it is tomorrow.

HE LOOKS TOUGH… BUT LLOYD IS REALLY JUST A BIG TEDDY BEAR. 🐻❤️🐶

Meet Lloyd, a Rottweiler who came to us with some reactivity that needed to be addressed.

And if you know Rottweilers, you know there can be a whole lot of dog behind that big head and powerful body. 😂

But underneath it all, Lloyd is an absolute sweetheart.

The goal of his training wasn’t to change who Lloyd is or take away his personality.

It was to help him learn how to stay calm, listen, and make better decisions when things around him become overwhelming.

Reactivity doesn’t mean a dog is “bad.”

It means there are behaviors that need to be understood, managed, and properly trained.

A dog can be powerful, protective, energetic, and still be an incredible family companion.

Big dog. Big personality. Big teddy bear. ❤️

“HE WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL…” 😳🐕

Meet Benji.

When Benji first came in, he was crazy, hyper, and had a hard time settling down. His energy was constantly going in every direction.

Now he’s heading home with a completely different level of structure, communication, and obedience.

In this video, we show you some of Benji’s before and after and talk about what changed during his training.

The goal isn’t to take the personality out of a dog.

It’s to teach them how to control it.

A high-energy dog doesn’t have to mean a chaotic household.

With the right structure, communication, and training, dogs can learn how to think, listen, and make better decisions.

Benji just went home. ❤️🐾

Now it’s time for his owners to put everything he learned into his everyday life.

Izzy’s story is a pretty special one. 🐾❤️

When she came to us, she was reactive toward dogs and other animals, constantly on the go, resource guarding, fighting other dogs in the home and struggled to settle or simply turn it off. With a move from Massachusetts to Colorado coming up, her owner Jamie Crockett wanted to make sure Izzy had the tools to handle new environments and experiences with confidence.

Today, she’s a completely different dog.

Calmer, more focused, able to settle, and able to enjoy the world around her without constantly being overwhelmed by it.

This is what we love about this work — helping dogs and their owners get to a place where they can actually enjoy life together.

Thank you for trusting us with Izzy and allowing us to be part of her journey. ❤️

You don’t need to carve out three 30-minute training sessions every day to make progress. 🐾

Some of the best training happens during the moments you’re already spending with your dog.

Playing fetch? Ask for a sit, down, or place before throwing the ball. Going for a walk? Practice engagement and reward good choices. Waiting to go through a door? Use it as an opportunity to reinforce patience.

Training doesn’t have to take over your day—it should become part of your day. Make it a lifestyle.

In this video, Moose helps demonstrate how simple it can be to turn everyday play into meaningful training that builds focus, impulse control, and a stronger relationship with your dog.

Small moments, practiced consistently, create big results.

📩 DM us if you’re ready to build a better relationship with your dog.

The real test of training isn’t what happens in a quiet training field — it’s what happens out in the real world 🐾🌎

Busy city streets, crowded sidewalks, train stations, elevators, passing dogs, unexpected distractions, and everything in between.

This recap highlights a few of the dogs that recently completed their programs and put their training to work where it matters most. Different personalities, different challenges, and different goals — but all building the same thing: confidence, clarity, and trust.

One of our favorite moments was watching Boo hold a down-stay on the sidewalk while his dad walked across the street, signed for a package next to a delivery truck, and returned before recalling him back to the house. That’s not just obedience — that’s trust, understanding, and proof that the training is holding up in everyday life.

Because at the end of the day, training isn’t about creating perfect dogs. It’s about helping dogs and owners navigate the world together with more confidence and understanding.

We’re incredibly proud of every team featured in this video and how far they’ve come. 👏

📩 DM us to learn more about our training programs.
