Monty The Therapy Dog and Tracy Gasdik Krapf day 2 of Northgate Terrier Trials:

Today because Monty showed great interest in Thunder Tunnel, we entered him in Thunder tunnel, and go to ground novice. After his novice GTG round he bumped up to Open and the results today were….

1st place novice go to ground!
3rd place open go to ground!
4th place thunder tunnel
4th place Barnhunt

Monty did not place today in brush hunt but the judge shook my hand at the end of today because he was so impressed with Monty all weekend! Today was the most difficult and Monty qualified just wasn’t fast enough to place but still did amazing!

Note: Northgate Terrier Trial is run by a Russel Terrier breeder at their home. They invite other breeds as “earth dogs” to also compete in all these events including conformation and even racing besides all the other events Monty competed in this weekend. They did an amazing job and welcomed us even as “earth dogs”. Monty was a huge hit and they were lovingly calling him “Thor”! 🤣 A few of the stewards would yell “Monty!” When they saw him.

Thank you Northgate we had a fantastic weekend!

He shall be forever remembered as Thor! 🤣

Not bad for Labor Day weekend… red white and blue!

Blue ribbons in Rally 1 & 2 (on leash and off leash)

Red 2nd place in Fun in the field! This was incredibly only Monty’s second time hunting in brush/forrest. Super proud of how fast he was! 19 seconds!

White 4th place in agility full house and tunnels.

AND best of all …. Monty The Therapy Dog tried the thunder tunnel again and completed it 3 times! We are going to try him in go to ground earth dog tomorrow!

Monty The Therapy Dog and Tracy Gasdik Krapf are starting what is about to be the most epic season ever!

We are starting today in Port Murray, NJ for a weekend event at Northgate Terrier trial.

This is our first time trialing here. Tonight was test runs for charity. Monty got to try an earthdog tunnel maze for the first time! He was a little nervous and only got through partially before backing out ( beep beep beep) * see video clip in comments

Tomorrow and Sunday we will compete in rally, fun in the barn(like barn hunt), fun in the field(barn hunt but out in the forest/brush), and agility.

September 11, Monty turns 5 years old

Next weekend we will be with our Scottie friends from Delaware competing at Stonehedge Barn Hunt and Dog Sports

Then begins the crazy! We fly to Branson Missouri for the AKC Fast CAT invitational to represent the Scotties best of breed.

After a brief one day trial where Monty takes the ATT (temperament test) Farm dog test and his Trick Dog Intermediate,
we will be in palmyra/hershey area for the all terrier Performance trials. We will be competing in agility and Obedience this year.

Fingers crossed for a few new titles too!
Monty is working on FCAT3, Open Agility, Novice Jumpers, novice Fast as well as the elusive companion dog (novice obedience) in addition of the ATT, Farm Dog and Trick dog intermediate.
