Everyone wants to start with sit, stay, heel. But those commands don't mean much if you skip the basics -- like relationship building through play.

This is something I do that a lot of other trainers don't....
This is Freyja. She was a board and train with us. We got the opportunity to take Cowboy and Stevie to take photos with Muenster Pet. We decided to bring her along and get her involved!

If we get opportunities like this when your dog is staying with us... there's a good chance your dog will be included

Do drifting grocery bags or random squirrels make your dog lose their mind?

Your dog isn't trying to make things hard. They're just reacting because they don't understand that new things aren't out to get them and that they really don't *have* to chase the squirrel.

The good news is you can teach your pup there's nothing to worry about. And if you're frustrated and out of ideas, I can help.

It’s Friday — yay!

Enjoy the weekend and get your dog out early in the morning before the sidewalks and asphalt get too hot.

But, lakes and parks are terrific and usually have grassy, shaded areas, and I’ve got a resource page with a few spots that should be perfect for an early morning or late evening walk with your pooch.

Hey dog lovers, clients, and friends!

Facebook is acting weird today, along with Messenger and Instagram. SO if you message me through one of these platforms, there may be a delay...or it may not get to me at all. Please be patient and follow up if it looks like the message got lost.

Thank you!

This is exactly the comment I live for — from Melissa's reiview on google:

"I first met Luke 3 years ago when my basset calamity was a puppy. She went through extensive training and she absolutely loved working with Luke! Now we’re working with Luke again as he introduced us to Mantrailing! Sniffing is what this girl loves to do! She is a very shy and sensitive girl but this has helped her gain confidence and come out of her shell with new people. 10 out of 10! Luke is the only trainer I trust my sensitive girl with."

Have you worked with me in the past, or are we currently working together? Your feedback helps potential clients decide if my training style is a fit for their four-legged family member.

In my six years training dogs professionally, I've noticed the dog is almost never the problem.

In fact, the dog is responding perfectly to what they've been accidentally taught.

But here's the good news: If you trained it in, you can train it out.

What's the behavior you most need to fix? Drop it below and let's discuss! 👇

Did you know that puppy training has a timeline? It does! And if you skip the early stages, the obedience work is harder later.

Sure, your 8–16 week old puppy can learn to sit for treats and potty outside, but skip the formal obedience for a minute.

This is your socialization window. Let your pup experience different surfaces, hear different sounds, see people, calm dogs, and enjoy car rides. What they learn (or don't) during this stretch sticks. Often for life.

I don't worry about formal obedience until they're about 6 months old. Until then, I spend time relationship-building, drive-building, and getting the foundation built. Rushing it is like asking a 5-year-old to act like a 12-year-old — it's not fair and it doesn't work.

Full puppy training timeline on the blog, including potty training, crate training, and why I almost never use a food bowl with young puppies. 🔗 Link below and in bio.

We just got back from a wonderful weekend in Lubbock TX with Heather Rothwell Red Dirt Mantrailing West Texas

It was so wonderful to bring in a new group of trailers and trail with students one more time before it gets too hot. We will be back after summer time! My phone storage was completely full so I didnt get to take many photos/videos.

Huge thank you to Lit Brews for helping us host the intro class!
