Pooped Pooch!
Most regular folks assume their dogs dream - the tail twitch, a jerk of the paw, head shudder and odd vocals. Now, after numerous studies, psychologists' report - with scientific certainty - that dogs do indeed go into a dream state! True story.
In fact, dogs’ sleep patterns and brain activity are similar to that of humans. Researchers also say that dogs dreams are usually happy and involve playing, chasing another animal or just running around. Smaller breeds tend to dream more often than bigger dogs. The scientists also found that pups usually dream about recent events - like playing, seeing old friends or going to new places. Dream on doggies!

Who’s Boss Dog?
Too many times I’ve walked into a home, only to receive a big sloppy kiss and heavy paws clawing at my clothes. Guess who the leader is in this family? Dogs need structure with a pet parent who is the indisputable leader. When a dog is allowed to be the leader of the pack, they tend to be loud, unruly and aggressive. This behavior disrupts family harmony, leaving our confused pup rejected and pushed away. So how do you tell your pooch that you’re the boss? The keeper of the food clinches Top Dog status. Take charge by feeding your dog at the same time twice a day - morning and night (puppies need to eat more often). A predictable meal schedule helps your pup be their best with easier housebreaking and prevention of separation anxiety. Regular schedules let your pooch know what to expect and when. Add more structure to their routine (or security in your dog’s view) by having your pup wait politely and patiently while you prepare their “feast.” No one likes a pushy or hyper dog when there’s food around. Help your pup be a happy member of the family and your family will be happier for it.

The four best ways to reward your dog
1. Acknowledgement: "Good job buddy." Your dog lives for your approval.
2 A strategically given treat: don't overdo this, but give a treat when the dog is doing what he's supposed to.
3. A walk: 15 minutes of exercising the mind and connecting to the owner is a great reward.
4. Feeding time: Dogs love to work for their food!
