Adopt Emmy! She is a sweet, playful, very smart, 8 month old, female Great Pyrenees mix.

Before coming into SPIN Rescue, Emmy was found as a stray with her sister and brought to a local shelter. We believe Emmy is possibly Lab mix or Shepherd mix (as her sister has long brown hair).

Emmy was underweight at 44lbs when she was found but is starting to gain weight in her foster home. She's up to 55lbs now and we think her healthy / full grown weight would be around 70lbs.

She is very friendly and really loves people. Would probably sit in your lap if you let her. We haven't seen her around kids yet but think she would be great with them. She has a great temperament, always gentle, kind, and lower energy levels.

Emmy is good with dogs and we expect her to do well with cats too. She loves the male dog in her foster home and enjoys playing. She was a great companion to her sister (adopted) as well. She would love to have another dog playmate in her forever home and she seems to enjoy being part of the pack.

She is smart, knows many commands, and responds very well to being told 'No'. She even comes inside when you call her. She occasionally barks, usually only when the resident dogs in the home are barking. She still has a high pitched puppy bark.

Em is potty trained and will let you know when she has to go by standing by the back door. She is crate trained and goes in on her own when she's ready for bed.

She is very good on a leash, she doesn't pull, and she does also does great in the car.

Emmy is an absolute GEM!

She is spayed. Her adoption fee is $300. Currently is in a foster home in DFW area of Texas. We do work with out of state adopters.

šŸ¾ PYR PANTRY SUPPLY REQUEST šŸ¾

Our Pyr Pantry has been a lifeline for so many new foster familiesā€”and thanks to your amazing support, itā€™s been used and loved more than ever! With each new foster comes the need to provide a full set of supplies, and our shelves are running low on some essentials.

Our volunteer who manages the pantry let us know we are currently OUT of:
ā€¢ Large crates
ā€¢ Extra large crates
ā€¢ Metal dog bowls
ā€¢ Medium collars
ā€¢ Natureā€™s Miracle enzyme cleaner for those little house accidents

We are also running LOW on:
ā€¢ Slow feeders
ā€¢ Lick mats
ā€¢ Rubber toys
ā€¢ Pajamas
ā€¢ Puppy shampoos

A happy update on our new SPIN rescue intake, Happy!

From her foster family: "Happy is such a sweet girl. She was pretty scared after her first night, she was digging and pulling on our fence trying to escape. But after about an hour of that and some calm time with her, she settled down and is quickly accepting our home, cat, and dog (a SPIN Alumn). Sheā€™s eating plenty, taking all her meds without a fuss, and warming up to all of us!"

Happy is an 8 yr old female Great Pyrenees. Her owner died, leaving Happy and another Pyrenees without care these past few months, just being fed by a kind neighbor. Unfortunately her sibling passed away and some good people stepped up to make sure Happy didn't meet the same fate. They reached out to us and when we put out a foster plea, a previous SPIN adopter stepped up to help her.

She was seen by our vet partner, given a full workup, an overdue nail trimming, and had to be shaved due to severe matting. Thanks to donations we are able to cover her visit.

We can't wait for her coat to fill back in and her to live up to her name :)

These guys are handsome 1yr old Great Pyrenees males. They have amazing temperament!

They are neutered and we will get them listed for adoption this week once we get to know them a little better.

šŸšØ FOSTER NEEDED FOR AJAX BY OCT 26th OR HE DIES šŸšØ

Meet AJAX! Heā€™s a one-year-old boy bursting with energy and love. Ajax is dog-friendly, but his playful style can be a lot for more mellow pupsā€”so heā€™d do best with a dog who enjoys a little rough-and-tumble play! Most importantly, this sweet boy absolutely adores people and craves human companionship.

Ajax still needs to be neutered, but we can get that handled pretty quickly. Sadly, his euthanasia date is set for Monday, October 26th.

Winter is now the CEO of Walk Time, and heā€™s demanding a serious increase in his daily mileage. This boy absolutely lives for his strollsā€”if he had thumbs, heā€™d be printing out route maps. The moment we touch his harness, he starts serenading us with dramatic moans worthy of an Oscar. Barking? Never heard of it. The few times he does unleash a bark, itā€™s so rare we check to see if someoneā€™s breaking into the houseā€”or if weā€™re dreaming.

Change is not Winterā€™s thing. Move a chair to vacuum and heā€™ll either tiptoe away like a cartoon burglar or rocket past the offending furniture at warp speed. When it comes to meeting new people, cats, or kids, heā€™s a gentlemanā€”unless someone moves too fast or drops a spoon, then itā€™s straight to his safe place for a tactical retreat.

Heā€™s got a soft spot for playing with young Teddy and enjoys pack walks with our two hounds. But if all five of the other dogs start zooming around like theyā€™re auditioning for a canine Olympics, Winter heads for his quiet sanctuary. Donā€™t worryā€”heā€™ll return when itā€™s time to lounge and nap like a pro. Heā€™s the sweetest, quirkiest soul, and weā€™re absolutely smitten with the boy!
