Meet “Dash” — a standout 6-year-old gelding by Makin Ya Famous and out of the legendary Dash Ta Fame lineage. Standing 15hh, this sorrel gelding offers an exceptional combination of talent, training, and temperament in a beautifully bred package. Dash is enrolled in future fortunes and is derby eligible.
Dash has a solid foundation with extensive training and exposure. While he’s bred with barrels in mind, his versatility allows him to excel in multiple directions. He is soft in the bridle, moves off leg and seat with ease, and has three balanced, fluid gaits with natural extension.
Well-versed in his maneuvers, Dash confidently side passes, leg yields, counter canters, spins, and has a smooth, cadenced backup. He neck reins and guides willingly, making him both responsive and enjoyable to ride.
One of Dash’s most notable qualities is his quiet, sensible nature. He has been level-headed and dependable from day one, handling arena traffic, machinery, farm animals, and new environments with ease. He’s been hauled off property and remains consistent wherever he goes.
Dash has been exposed to a variety of tasks including carrying a flag, crossing bridges and tarps, dragging a sled, working a mechanical flag, pushing cattle, and even being pasture roped off. He is also a confident trail horse—happy to go out alone or in a group, navigating water, logs, and rough terrain without hesitation.
Safe and trustworthy, Dash has been used in lesson settings when needed and would make an exceptional youth or amateur mount.
He has received top-quality care, including regular farrier, veterinary, chiropractic, and bodywork maintenance. Dash is sound, with no known vices or prior medical concerns. X-rays from last year are available, and pre-purchase exams are welcome at the prospective buyer’s expense.
