The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accreditation represents a commitment that goes beyond ordinary veterinary care. While fewer than 5,000 veterinary hospitals nationwide have achieved this distinction, its true significance lies in how this voluntary process transforms patient care.

As an AAHA-accredited hospital, we recognize your pet as an individual with unique needs. When your pet enters our practice, they’re treated as a valued family member whose comfort and wellbeing guide all decisions.

The comprehensive AAHA standards create a framework that allows our veterinary team to focus deeply on what matters most—your pet’s health and happiness. By establishing clear protocols for everything from pain management to patient handling, these standards free veterinary professionals from guesswork, allowing us to direct their full attention toward your pet’s specific needs.

During illness or injury, this patient-centered approach becomes especially meaningful. AAHA-accredited teams consider not just the medical condition, but how treatments might affect your pet’s emotional state, stress levels, and overall quality of life. This holistic perspective ensures your companion receives care that addresses their complete wellbeing, providing you with peace of mind during both routine visits and challenging health situations.

Meet Allysen, or Dr A as she’s been dubbed by the CVVC crew. She is our current 4th year vet intern from LMU in Tn.
Allysen has been helping work cases, perform surgeries, and perform dental extractions all while interacting with our clients and patients daily. Dr Cortiaus and Dr Coady have enjoyed mentoring and helping guide her in her journey towards her DVM license upon graduation in Jan 2027.
Pictured: Allysen helping extract teeth from an extremely painful mouth that had been preventing normal eating and creating reclusive behavior in a sick patient. With Dr Cortiaus’s assistance and instruction, she was able to help give quality of life back to this sweet baby.
Per Mom of kitty, she’s has improved 100% since the extractions.

Zoetis just rolled out the red carpet and swung open the doors to their fancy new reference lab in Irving, giving a handful of veterinary support staff the grand tour, namely Chrissy, Treniya, and Ava, who got a guided tour around the new pristine facility. We hope you enjoy knowing that a majority of your pets lab samples will be ran through this location.
