Train Your Mind to Hear God’s Whisper

In a world full of noise, fear, opinions, and distractions, God’s voice is rarely the loudest but it is always the truest.

The enemy shouts:
“You’re not enough.”
“Give up.”
“You’re alone.”
“There’s no hope.”

But God whispers:
“Fear not, for I am with you.”
“Trust Me.”
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
“This is the way; walk in it.” (Isaiah 30:21)

As a dog trainer, I’ve learned something powerful.

A well-trained dog can be in a park filled with barking dogs, children yelling, squirrels running, and countless distractions. Yet when it hears its owner’s familiar voice or command, it immediately turns its attention to the one it trusts. Why? Because that voice has been reinforced through relationship, consistency, and time spent together.

Our walk with God is no different.

The more time we spend in His Word, in prayer, and in quiet surrender, the more familiar His voice becomes. Eventually, His whisper becomes louder to our hearts than the world’s chaos.

The enemy creates confusion.
God brings peace.

The enemy drives with fear.
God leads with truth.

The enemy wants your attention.
God wants your trust.

“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.” Isaiah 30:21 (NKJV)

Be still. Listen carefully. The Shepherd’s voice has never led His sheep or His children astray.

🐾 Meet Melody – Here for Training 🐾

Meet Melody.

Melody is here at Be Still Dog Training after several serious altercations with her longtime housemate, Dusty. The fights became severe enough that Dusty required drains to treat her injuries.

This is a unique and heartbreaking case.

Melody has been with her family since she was a puppy after being rescued. Dusty is a 12-year-old female, much smaller than Melody, and has always been the one “calling the shots” in the home—especially around food and personal space. From the time Melody was a puppy, Dusty would correct her, and Melody accepted it.

As Melody matured, that relationship changed.

Our assessment is that Melody has become less tolerant of Dusty’s corrections. She isn’t always the one who starts the conflict, but when a disagreement begins, she has been the one escalating it and causing the most damage.

Our goal isn’t simply to stop the fighting.

Our goal is to change Melody’s emotional response.

We want to teach her how to remain calm and make better decisions in situations that previously made her uncomfortable. Whether it’s eye contact, pressure, correction, or another dog’s presence, we want Melody to learn that she doesn’t need to respond with tension, growling, or aggression. Confidence, self-control, and emotional stability are the foundation of lasting change.

The family was faced with one of the hardest decisions a dog owner can make. They considered returning Melody to the rescue, but after much prayer and many tears, they chose to keep fighting for both Melody and Dusty.

That decision deserves respect.

Rehabilitation is rarely easy. It takes commitment, consistency, honesty, and patience from everyone involved. There are no shortcuts—only daily choices that move everyone in the right direction.

Please keep Melody, Dusty, and their family in your prayers as we begin this journey together. We are honored to be part of their story and will continue to share updates along the way.

Every dog has a story.

Sometimes they just need someone willing to help them write a better ending. ❤️🐾

Riley is here for a full evaluation and a month of structured training. He struggles with severe fear, anxiety, and impulse control, reacting to almost anything that creates excitement.

This is not about blaming the owners. They have reached out for help because they love him and want to make the best decision for everyone involved.

Riley has attacked multiple dogs. During one fight, he redirected onto his owner, resulting in Mom being hospitalized. At this time, he also cannot safely be around the husband without becoming reactive.

Our goal over the next month is to evaluate his state of mind, work on impulse control, and determine what his future can safely look like. Some dogs need training, some need management, and some require difficult decisions. Our responsibility is to honestly assess Riley and put the safety of both people and animals first.

Please keep Riley and his family in your prayers as we begin this journey.

🚨 BE STILL DOG TRAINING UPDATE 🚨

We regret to inform everyone that Gabe has officially resigned from being a cat.

After spending years convincing dogs that cats aren’t scary, he has now moved on to his next career path…. Bird. 🦅

Today we found him sitting on top of a pole supervising the entire property like he’s the manager, owner, security team, and air traffic controller all at once. 😂

The dogs looked up like:
“Uh… is that supposed to be up there?”

Gabe looked down like:
“Carry on, peasants.”

At Be Still Dog Training, we train dogs every day, but nobody has figured out how to train Gabe. He’s operating on a level the rest of us simply don’t understand.

Dog? ❌ Cat? ❌
Bird? Owner Maybe. 🤷‍♀️

One thing is certain…
Gabe is the employee of the month. Again.

Coach Frank came in with a game plan:

✅ Focus
✅ Listen
✅ Stay Calm
✅ Follow Directions

The dogs heard:

🎾 BALL
🍖 TREATS
🏃 CHASE SOMETHING

Somehow they ignored every instruction, scored a goal anyway, celebrated like champions, and left Coach Frank questioning all of his life choices. 😂

Honestly, dog training feels a lot like soccer sometimes. You spend hours creating the perfect strategy, and then your dog reminds you that they have a strategy of their own.

The good news? Whether it’s on the field or in real life, success comes from teamwork, communication, consistency, and a little bit of patience.

And maybe a few treats. 😅

🏆 The real victory isn’t winning the game. It’s building a better relationship with your dog.

HAPPY FRIDAY
