Dear Future Best Friend,

I know you're out there.

Maybe you've been waiting for the right dog. The one who fits into your life without turning it upside down. The one who's just as happy joining you for a coffee run as she is curling up at home afterward.

That's me! Andie! I'm 3 years old, and 50 lbs of love.

I'll ride sh***un on your errands. I'll walk beside you without pulling. I'll make friends with everyone we meet. When you hand me a treat, I'll take it gently. When you want company, I'll be there. When you just want a quiet day, I'll be there for that too.

I'm not looking for anything fancy.

Just someone to save me a spot in the car. A place next to them on the couch. A person to call my own.

We are so very grateful for our volunteers that help out around the shelter! Jeremy DiLuzio is our October Volunteer of the Month!

We asked him:
What is something you wish people knew about volunteering with the SPCA of Texas?
"I wish more people knew just how easy it is to get involved with the SPCA of Texas, and how much of a difference you can make, even in a short amount of time. You don't need endless free hours to be a lifeline; even just stepping in for a brief window when you have the opportunity can completely transform an animal's day and bring them comfort."

What's your favorite memory at the SPCA of Texas?
"One of my absolute favorite memories was joining the committee for the Strutt Your Mutt 5K right when I first started. Seeing the entire event come together from scratch—and being 'boots on the ground' helping set up on race day—was such a special way to dive in and watch our community rally for the animals."

What do you want people to know about the kitten you took a picture with or a volunteer program you really enjoy?
"While dogs often steal the spotlight, shelter cats are just as magical. They might not always get the same amount of love, but they are deeply affectionate and bring so much joy to anyone willing to give them a chance."

PUPDATE: Thank you so much for the support! Newton has 15+ applications for adoption. We appreciate your patience as our team works with his foster to find his furever home!

💜 Newton is only 5 months old... and already 36 pounds. 😅

Translation: he's got a LOT more growing to do, and even more love to give.

Newton can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give him a minute and you'll quickly discover a sweet, friendly pup with a wagging tail, a gentle heart, and plenty of cuddles to share. He's the kind of dog who makes friends wherever he goes.

The best part? You don't have to wait to meet him.

Newton is currently available through our Foster-To-Adopt program while he waits for his neuter surgery. It's the perfect chance to get to know each other, start making memories, and see if he's the missing piece of your family. 🐾💜

🩶 Hi, dearie. I'm Cindy.

At 9 years old, I've learned to appreciate the finer things in life: cozy naps, gentle pets, good company, and a nice bowl of wet food.

My teeth have all been retired, which means crunchy kibble is a thing of the past. Honestly? No dentures to keep up with and all the wet food I could want sounds like a pretty good deal to me! 😸

Sometimes, I can be a little shy at first, but once we're friends, you'll quickly discover I've got plenty to say. Pull up a chair, give me a few pets, and we can catch up on all the latest tea.🫖

I'm looking for a foster-to-adopt home or furever family where I can spend my days lounging, chatting, and being loved.
