Feeding Your Dogs Together Creates Pack Unity 🐾
Feeding time is a great opportunity to strengthen harmony and structure within your pack.
Here’s how to make it work:
• Establish leadership first. The caretaker (or pack leader) should make it clear that the food belongs to them first. Have all dogs sit and wait while you set down the bowls. Once they’re calm, ask them to look at you before giving a clear release command so each dog goes to their designated bowl.
• Stay consistent. Use the same bowls, in the same spots, and feed at structured times each day. This predictability builds confidence and reduces food-related tension.
• Maintain boundaries. Each dog should stay at their own bowl. If one finishes or walks away, their bowl should be picked up — no wandering or sharing. This reinforces respect and prevents resource guarding.
When done with calm, consistent energy, shared feeding time can help your dogs feel balanced, secure, and connected as one cohesive pack.
