I get asked a lot what the main differences between Cavapoos and Goldendoodles are, and the main differences can be categorized in three ways; size, temperament, and energy level.
In terms of sizing, Cavapoos are typically smaller in size. They are easier to travel with, but can be more delicate.
Cavapoos tend to be more laid back, people-oriented, and clingy. They are great lap dogs. If you are wanting a little shadow that follows you everywhere, Cavapoos are perfect. They can be prone to separation anxiety, so if you plan leaving them alone most of the day, keep this in mind.
Goldendoodles tend to be more energetic, active, and independent. They are perfect for active families that love outdoor activities.
This doesn’t mean every Cavapoo is calm, or that every Goldendoodle is active. Every puppy has their own personality and temperament. It’s important to research the breed’s personality, maintenance, and costs of owning one. Both are a great breed for families, specially with children.
