Melbourne is new to Lakeview. He was such a sweet old man at 14 years young.

Shiba Inu! 🐾💜

The Shiba Inu is an ancient, confident, and independent Japanese breed, often called "cat-like" due to its meticulous grooming and aloof personality. Standing 13.5–16.5 inches tall and weighing 17–23 pounds, these athletic dogs are recognized by their fox-like appearance, curled tails, and "shiba scream" (a high-pitched vocalization).

The Shiba Inu (Japanese for "brushwood dog") is a very independent breed. Thanks to this, the dogs are next to impossible to train; however, what they lack in obedience, they make up for in loyalty. After the 2004 Chūetsu earthquake, a Shiba Inu helped rescue workers locate her elderly owner, who was trapped beneath the rubble. The ordeal was adapted into a movie called "A Tale of Mari and Three Puppies."
