Good Afternoon,
Here is Oliver’s second video of his Advanced training concepts. He is on his 10ft long-line with his e-collar on. He has made huge improvements in all areas of training. He has improved with being more vertically focused and less horizontally distracted, obeying commands that are given, and respecting the leave it command with people, dogs, and cats. He also also improved with his attention span and holding commands for longer periods of time. We have gained his respect as the pack leader because we demonstrate power, position, authority, and strength. This brings him comfort to know that the person he is tethered to is strong enough to protect him anywhere on the planet and he doesn’t have to protect himself. This is because our body language is calm, confident, and in command. Dogs speak with body language so when you are confident they are confident, but if you are nervous they flag what is in the horizontal as a threat to the pack. There are 3 levels of distraction for dog’s. Level 1 distraction is in your house and yard. This is where your dog will be most comfortable. This is because your dog has already become acclimated to his surroundings. The 2nd level of distraction is compared to walking your subdivision with more going on in the horizontal. For example your neighbor walking their dog or a couple of cars drive by. The 3rd level of distraction is compared to a dog park. A dog park has 10 new dogs that your dog has never met and their owners. We will send you home with a tethering process to follow for the next 6 weeks. Every two weeks you will go to a higher level of distraction. This way you can prove to Oliver that you are a confident pack leader in all levels of distraction and he can trust you to protect him. The energy that enters through a dogs eyes is expressed throughout the body. This is when their adrenaline and pain tolerance increase. The higher level of distraction the higher level of correction needed to redirect his focus from the horizontal to vertically on you. If you give him an inch he will take a mile. The more laid back you are the more he will try to push his boundaries to see what he can get away with. It’s not deficiency of knowledge, it’s ex*****on. This helps for him to understand that the command is not optional and you mean what you say and say what you mean. The Balance between task and relationship is important. Task is always before relationship because dogs need discipline to communicate hierarchy within the pack. This is to always show him that you are the pack leader anywhere on the planet. Relationship is used to reassure him when he follows through a command the first time it is given. Overall, we are proud of his progress and hope you enjoy the video. He is such an awesome dog!!🐶🐾🐶😊

Spot came in to us very dominant and reactive; we channeled that negative energy into the direction of obedience and look how happy Spot is now. This is one of six Videos we sent to the family.

A Therapy Dog who just finished her Advanced Off Leash Training and is now ready to perform her ministry and is 100% Obedient both on and off Leash.

We enrolled our four-year-old German Shepherd, Mombo, in Whispering Oaks' Advanced Off-Leash Training program in May 2026, and we couldn't be happier with the results.

Mombo is the third German Shepherd we've owned, and overall he was a well-behaved dog. However, he had begun resource guarding our family whenever guests came to our home, and we knew we needed professional guidance. Our veterinarian highly recommended Mike Sinteff and his team at Whispering Oaks, and we're so glad we followed that advice.

The transformation has been incredible. Mombo is calmer, more attentive, and consistently looks to our family for direction. Just as importantly, Mike didn't just train our dog—he trained us. The knowledge and coaching we received have helped every member of our family become a confident, consistent leader that Mombo trusts and follows.

Our confidence continues to grow alongside Mombo's, and we now feel much more comfortable welcoming visitors into our home and taking him with us to parks, gatherings, and public events.

If you're considering professional dog training, don't hesitate. The investment is absolutely worthwhile, and the results speak for themselves. We are incredibly grateful to Mike and the entire Whispering Oaks team for giving us the tools to build a stronger, more trusting relationship with Mombo.
